Need some help please knowledgeable people. Purchased an item in June (I'm guessing a guest purchase as it isn't in my purchase history) which has now stopped working. Click on my order confirmation but the link states "order not found" or words to that effect. Seller is delaying and wont organise either a refund or return address. I have tried the chat and eBay functions without success and with no call back option. Suggestions?

It is now November, anything that happened in June is over and done.

Ebay is 30 days from the delivery date to open a return. You can check with your credit card issuer to see if they can help you.

Thanks for the info, never realized it was only 30 days. Something still to be said for buying local it seems.

To be fair, I've been trying for over 2 months to get help with the issue.

Hi @taupot48
All my local stores have a 30-day return policy.
I’m curious about where you can ‘buy local’ that allows longer than 30 days.
Here are a few.
Lowe's the home improvement store allows 90 days and will go longer with a manager approval. Home Depo does the same. Home Depo allows a year if purchased with their credit card. WalMart allows 90 days for most items. Hobby Lobby allows 90 days. Harbor Freight allows 90 days. Tractor Supply allows 90 days if you are a Club Member.

Within 30 days of delivery, you can open a Claim for Not As Described with eBay directly from the original purchase.
After 90 days, most details of transactions are dropped.
However, if you use a payment processor like Paypal, you can make a Not As Described claim there. It used to be for 180 days, but I understand PP has shortened the Claim period.
Or you can go to the credit card you originally paid with and open a chargeback. Deadlines vary with the card with some running up to 180 days.
Note that most manufacturers will not honour warranties for goods that are not purchased from authorized dealers, which is most online stores.

Doing the seller dirty? Someone buys something five months ago - that’s long enough that a seller shouldn’t have to worry about a return because the buyer broke the item. Why encourage bad behavior?
