I just recieved a small cheap collectible item in my house with my full name and phone number attach to it on the package. The package has no ebay ID but I've searched the item online and the found the exact sold item page. I was able to confirm it it was that item from the scratches i could match through the photos and the seller city (not in my country) being the same on the package information.
I checked my bank account and found no suspicious transactions, but in the other hand I've never bought anything on ebay (recreated an account just for this) and didn't order anything online for a couple of months (and for what I've bought all have been delivered already) so I'm confused how this happened.
I've just contacted the seller and ebay about this issue and I'm wainting responses. Does anyone know how this could've happened or if it is some type of scam?

Is it possible that someone sent it to you as a gift?
If you didn't buy it and it was addressed to you, it is now yours.
What makes you think it came from eBay?

I asked my family and close friends and no one bought me this, someone could've done this just to mess with me but I don't think that is the case. I wouldn't even make sense as a gift since I'm not a collector and it's not something would gift if that person it's not really into it.
I'm certain it is from ebay because there is a sold page for this item in which the seller city on the page is the same from the package (not big city). The item is at least +20 years old, so it is not pristine condition, from the page photos I can match the scratches with the item I received.

You can make an attempt to contact the seller via eBay and tell them you've received it in error.
If they want it back, they will need to send you the shipping cost.

Unless you had ordered some other item and the seller mixed them up, it's hard for that to happen by accident. Others suggested it might be a gift. It could be part of the fake tracking number scam. That is where a scam sellers sends a cheap item to the same zip code as the buyer. eBay does not check the street address, only the zip code to say it was delivered. I suspect but can't prove that is what it is.

I've never ordered anything on eBay ever. If this is a scam the way you described, can I be held accountable or something like that in any way?
