A seller sent me the wrong item and I initiated a return request. I got a notification from eBay telling me to ship the item back. Then I got a notification the seller issued a refund and commented not to worry about returning it. If I don’t return it do I get to keep the money I was refunded? Or can the seller change their mind about not wanting the item back?

If you are already refunded, then consider that the seller is happy with you keeping the wrong item. You're good.

That's very nice of your seller to just refund you and tell you to keep the item @lylee8682 when this happens you're not required to send it back. Like @mtgraves7984 mentioned, you're good!

I had exactly the same problem recently. I opened a request for not as described. Initially the seller issued me a return label, but then refunded me and said not to return it. Sometimes it's just more cost effective to forego paying for the return shipping. I got my refund and the case was closed.
