Re-opening a closed return

I ordered some replacement parts for my electric razor. They were advertised as fitting my model. They did not. Also they were not original manufacturer parts which I thought I was receiving. They were knockoffs from China.

I opened a return but then closed it when the seller told me to ship to an address in China. I am not shipping on my dime to China. I'll ship if they give me a pre-paid label. But I don't think they will. The seller has been non-responsive to all of my communication so far.

I would like to ask eBay to step in to help resolve. But apparently I need an open return to escalate. How can I re-open my closed return? I don't see an option to initiate a new return for this item.  Thanks in advance for any help from the community.

Re: Re-opening a closed return

Well, darn... you can't reopen a Return request once you have closed it. If the item was 'Not as Described' in the listing, your seller would have had to buy return postage, if they'd wanted the item back. They could have also refunded you without a return, as they don't want to pay the shipping, either... but now you'll never know.

Since eBay is off the table, you could go to PayPal (if you used it), but you'd have to pay return shipping... so, no.

If you paid using a credit card, you can make a claim there. Good luck, however you proceed.

Re: Re-opening a closed return

Virtually everything on ebay from China is counterfeit, a poorly made item, wrong size, wrong material, toxic material, etc.  Did you really think that the parts would be from the manufacturer.  Shipping from China to USA is dirt cheap thanks to a stupid deal that Washington DC did years ago.  The post office takes a loss on almost every parcel from China that they deliver to a US address.    Now if a buyer like you has to return an item to China, it costs an arm and a leg.  Chinese sellers know this.

You closed the case.   YOu can NOT open it.  If you go to paypal, you are stuck paying return shipping and it will be pricey.  If you paid with a credit card, then go ahead and call the credit card, explain what happened and hopefully you will win the chargeback.  And please, do NOT buy stuff from China.

After several bad deals years ago involving my kids and stuff they bought from China, none of us here will be from China again.   My kid got a Nintendo game cartridge that ONLY works in systems made in China.  The other one got a Pokemon game with Chinese text.   They each bought headphones that arrived broken.  ALL were refunded when Mommy opened item NOT as described cases.  All were escalated after the sellers did not send a return shipping label.  On the  Pokemon game cartridge I did a chargeback because I was so mad that they seller hurt my younger son. I just wanted the seller to get charged the 20 dollar Ebay fee.  That one still raises my blood pressure today.   My son was just 6 at the time.

Re: Re-opening a closed return

You can't reopen a closed case.

If you file a dispute on PayPal they now charge an $8 -$16 dispute fee.
