On July 25, a buyer from China paid for a postcard he purchased. On the same day, he placed a payment dispute "outside of EBAY" (whatever that means) saying that "the item does not match the descrption in the listing." The item was not shipped by me until July 27, so I believe he had received another item from a different buyer & got confused because of the language difference. Requesting a call from EBAY, I was contacted by one of their representatives. He could barely speak English. He suggested that I put a photo of the item I sent as a response to the dispute. Stupid idea. All he had to do was look at the listing to see what I sent. Because I used EBAY shipping (BIG MISTAKE) , the buyer contacted me and said he received the postcard I sent. That was on August 15. Again it was shipped to him on July 27. I asked him to close the dispute on the same day & he said he did. Ebay, however is still holding onto my $77.00. Today is August 22; 26 days after the dispute was filed. EBAY obviously has gone to sleep on this. I am guessing I will lose this case because no one in the claims depatment seems to know what they are doing or they really don't care. They are buyer oriented; and really don't care about their sellers.

For the sake of other sellers who might find themselves in a situation similar to yours, why did you ship the item when a dispute had been opened?

Good question. I need to be more careful about checking my emails.

If they filed a payment dispute on the 25th, why did you ship it on the 27th.?
