I guess I've been very fortunate to never have had a return, but I am awaiting one right now. My tiny little payout is on hold til I receive the item back. I am a little confused about the process, but I think my basic question is: why would someone return an item priced less than $10, when they also paid for shipping and my return policy for this item is "buyer pays return postage." Wouldn't this person actually be losing money by returning the item? His reason for return is: "changed my mind." This was a brand new item in original packaging. Additionally, I haven't been asked to provide a return postage label (I'm assuming that is because of my 'buyer pays return shipping' policy.....right?) He has til April 4 to return the item. I'm just not sure what's going to happen....and it's such a tiny amount of money involved....doesn't seem worth all the trouble. I'd appreciate any input on what I am to expect. I guess I just wait til it comes back to me....? Thank you.

A couple years ago I had a return for a $5 item.
Between the original shipping they paid and the return shipping, it was almost $13 to get a $5 refund.
Sometimes I just don't understand some people.

For buyer's remorse return reasons such as "Lost my mind" the buyer pays return shipping if it's not free returns. eBay is aware of this low-value inequality, and even says:
If the expected shipping charges cost more than the expected refund or the refund value of a replacement or exchange, an eBay return shipping label won’t be available.
So the buyer literally has to buy their own return label outside of eBay.

Does eBay inform the buyer that they won't provide a return label? I haven't seen anything transpire since I agreed to let the return process begin. I wonder if the buyer is waiting for me to do something...
