What the heck is this about! The seller refused my refund. I want to appeal but it cannot be done, Why??? I wanted to return this as my aunt had died but the unreasonable and uncaring seller rejected the return. I wrote "I bought this for my aunt who passed away on Sunday. I received this item on Monday. I have no use for it. It is unopened. I will ship it USPS at my cost and get a tracking number." Still the seller refused. Am so glad people are sympathetic for those who have died. I hope no one you love passes away. WHY CAN I NOT APPEAL THIS CASE?

Did the listing post 'no returns'?
What reason did you use for the return?

My condolences for your loss. I don't know what the item was but perhaps you can consider donating it to a nursing home. Perhaps someone there can use this item. Again, sorry for your loss.
Anyway, if you try to return it w/o the seller okaying the return, you void your rights and might not get a refund at all. So donating might be the best option or perhaps listing it yourself when you things get less hectic.

listing post 'no returns'?
I said the following....... "I bought this for my aunt who passed away on Sunday. I received this item on Monday. I have no se for it. It is unopened. I will ship it USPS at my cost and get a tracking number."
Why was my appeal declined?

Because thee seller has no idea if your reason was legitimate, and as harsh as it sounds some buyers will claim anything to send an item back although usually to get free return shipping.
I am sorry your seller would not accept the return, given that you were prepared to pay for the return shipping I would have agreed with no issue.
My condolences to you and your family

A donation in your aunt's memory would be a sweet way of remembering her.
There are many old people in nursing homes who have nobody left to love them.

I am sorry for your loss but this is a very common thing
ebayers die by the hundreds every single day. thats a fact
this week alone 500 USA ebay sellers are going to die
I am sorry that this happened but thats life
one out of every 60 people in the USA is a seller
every day in the USA 7000 people are going to die
thats a lot of ebayers and a lot of ebay sellers
you can make a claim to the estate if you want to

Again- did listing state 'no returns'?? Your response to me didn't answer that question.
There is a dropdown box where you 'choose' the reason (usually 2 words max)- what did you use for the reason?
The commentary you added is not part of the return/refund request.
But like others stated, there is nothing to appeal- especially if the 'return' was opened for the reason you stated. What happened is not the sellers concern.
You could resell the item if it's worth the trouble.

Our condolences for your loss.
Sell the item...donate it...the seller is under no obligation to accept a return because you changed your mind and no longer need it.

My condolences for your loss. I'm assuming that the seller had listed the item you purchased with no returns accepted. Therefore, those were the terms agreed to when you purchased, and despite your tragedy the seller doesn't have any obligation to accept a return. Moreover, there isn't any grounds for an appeal since those were the terms listed.
While we can understand that you no longer have any use for the item you purchased you forget that the seller is attempting to earn a living, and put food on their table. Sellers always lose money on returns as we pay non refundable fees for every transaction and we have our overhead costs as well. Shipping supplies cost money. The time spent listing, packaging, and transporting to the shipping carriers has a cost. So the situation isn't that simple.
You can give it to someone else or resell it yourself.
