I have been with eBay for more than a decade. I got over 330 positive feedbacks from buying and selling with ZERO negative feedback.
I recently won a bid for a soccer trading card and the card passed authentication. However, I found the card had a major chipping issue on the surface when I saw the same card from somewhere else, teh defect was not highlighted and described in the original listing. The original listing had only 2 pictures front and back. The obvious deficiency won't be able to spot if I don't have another card to compare with. I opened a return case, but the case got denied instantly by an eBay authenticator because the card passed authentication. The authenticator said that the card was listed as a used item and described as the buyer got what they were bidding for, as long as the card passed the authentication, the buyer will not be able to return it no matter what.
My question is can everybody sell an authentic trading card without highlighting its defects and finally take the buyer's money and get away from it?
Or this is just the risk every buyer has to take if you are buying cards from eBay.
This is the first time I had a problem with an eBay transaction.

The Authenticity Guarantee stops at the border, where fantasyland meets the real world @rootbeerhans.
