Is this a customer abusing returns and changing out item?

Buyer sent me a message that they wore the shoes  1 time .

its hard to imagine this is the same pair of shoes. I’ve asked for more pictures. 

What do you think? What would you do.

Hard to say as many shoes when stored for a while look great, but when worn the soles just crumble away.

If it's a well known brand you could try googling it to see if they are prone to this sort of problem.

Hi - how old were the shoes? I have heard of shoes that even if new when stored for years will have "rot" that causes the shoe to literally fall apart when worn. How were the shoes stored? Was the storage area climate controlled?

MAN MADE SOLE and MADE IN CHINA... makes sense to me.
