I’ve shipped the item to return, seller only had the ability to issue a partial refund, not in full

As the buyer, I have requested a return to this seller for something I don’t want and the item I received definitely not worth paying the $12 for. I have packaged the item and then before that, the seller issued a partial refund instead of a full refund which was odd and the seller stated that he can only issue a partial refund under the return request? I find that very odd, and strange. I have already shipped the returnable item back to the seller and the seller cannot refund in me full. The seller has 100% feedback. I desire for a full refund! Any recommendations?

You'd have to provide a breakdown on all the dollar amounts along with the item number to get best advice.

For example: the seller might have issued a full refund, but eBay withheld the cost of shipping for a return label. Or the seller might have issued a full refund minus the original ship cost if the listing charged a separate ship cost. If the item was returned used/damaged/etc then the seller may have had an option to withhold part of the refund because of the altered condition.

It's not entirely clear from your post, but another possibility is the seller offered a partial refund through the return request and if you accepted that on your end then it closes out the transaction.

I have purchased the item and it delivered on May 28. Obviously, I am still eligible for MBG with the deadline being a few days away from the delivery date. Do you think there are any possibilities to get refunded? Approx. $7 still paid after partial refund, now for nothing is worthless to me and I desire for a refund.

In normal circumstances, you have nothing to worry about. Once the item is received back by the seller, they have a timeframe to issue you the refund - typically 3 days. Should that not happen, you can contact an ebay agent & they should be able to push through the balance of the refund. That has been my experience in the past. Some sellers try to limit their exposure with claims of system restrictions. Do not accept that as the end of the process.

I’ve contacted eBay CS and she said that they are manually doing a refund. Do you think I should still reach out to them just in case they don’t actually manually issue a refund from their end? I might be quite concerned.
