I cannot get my return label without eBay error screens due to my guest purchase

I am trying to make a return  for an item I purchased as a guest. The seller agreed but I did not receive the return label. If I try to contact the seller through the return request eBay wants me to log in. If I log in then eBay goes straight to error screens when I try to then bring up my return details. Because of this I cannot contact the seller or eBay about my return. This is all due to having purchased on a guest account. Does anyone have suggestions on how to circumvent this error? I have until September 10th to mail back the item but I can't do that until I get my return label. Thank you in advance for any advice. I learned my lesson to never purchase as a guest again. What a headache.

Hi @nicto50

When you purchase an item as a ‘guest’ … you have to start the return request from the confirmation email you received after purchasing the item.  Have you done that?  🤔

You will need to sign out of your current eBay account to use the "order details" link in the guest order confirmation email you received from eBay, or else open that link in a private or incognito browser window.

I did do that, but thanks for the suggestion.

Re: I cannot get my return label without eBay error screens due to my guest purchase

Thanks for the suggestion. I think I figured it out. I did try the incognito window but still needed to log in. I ended up having to create a new account, connected it to the order confirmation and request details and then for some reason everything got connected there and the item showed up in that purchase history. Go figure. So I was able to finally message the seller about sending the return label they promised.

Unfortunately the seller has proven to be shady so I am not sure they will cooperate (the return itself was due to them sending me a bootleg in the first place as opposed to their advertised item). Hopefully they will send the label. Them accepting the return in the first place was not without issue. Anyway, if my efforts to get a refund are in vain (deadline to ship is the 10th) I guess I'll keep the item and the consolation prize of knowing I at least wasted some of their time with this process and reported their dishonest shop, even if they get to keep my money.
