I need help if anyone can help me, Ebay CS has lied to me twice already.
I ordered a book, i returned this book and clicked "return on gift card" by accident. As soon as i did this i conctaced ebay and i was told that its fine, the return will go on my credit card (as pictured). Well it clearly did not. I contcated ebay again, said theres nothing they could do. So i asked if i can buy something (using ebay money/gift card) and return it and get a refund on my credit card. They said yes i can (as pictured). Well guess what, now i cant do that either....
I would have canceled the first return and just redo the first retrun but i was told it was fine. Just annoying.

Ebay's CS is known to tell callers what they want to hear in order to get them off the phone as quickly as possible.
You made the original mistake in requesting the refund on a gift card and that's the way it will remain. So your only alternative is to accept the gift card, use it for a future purchase and if this happens again in the future, double check before clicking to make sure you're getting what you want.

Refunds on returns will always be refunded to the original payment method used.
If you selected gift card that is where it will go.
Refunds are NOT instantaneous and will usually be reflected on the next billing cycle.
If you end a return you cannot reopen it.

Although normally (and in the past) refunds went back to the original payment method, I think ebay is experimenting with offering buyers the option of getting the refund on a gift card. Ebay's thinking is probably that it's a surer way to know that the g.c. will be spent on ebay as opposed to a c.c. refund allowing the buyer to purchase anywhere.
But when the purchase is made with a g.c., the credit for a return can't go back to the credit card because the purchase wasn't made with a c.c.
Again, your mistake from which you'll hopefully learn and not repeat the error in the future.

Will for sure, but ebay CS is clearly lacking knowledge to and is pretty garbage then. Both things, initial return and the second return they have no idea what they're amswering then.

Yes, and that's why it's recommended that you come here for accurate answers rather than to CS for answers you want to hear, whether they're accurate or not.
