A buyer recently requested a return on an item that was delivered on April 16, 2023. The requested return was on June 6, 2023, almost 2 months after the delivery. Buyer says the item arrived broken, so why would you wait almost two months to file a request for a return? I think the likely scenario is that the buyer has been wearing the bracelet for two months and it broke, so they want me to refund them. I was under the impression that eBay has a 30 day limit to request a return for defective items, and yet they issued a shipping label to the buyer. What's the real story? If you can return an item for any reason over any length of time, what's to stop scammers from "buying" your items, using them until they wear them out and then returning them? I think I'm being scammed. Help!

If it has been 30 days past the delivery date, you should be able to deny the return without repercussions from eBay.
The buyer could then possibly open a chargeback case with their Credit Card.
They might can also still leave feedback.

Was it shipped to a freight forwarder, they have only gotten it recently. Either way it's suspicious and a freight forwarder doesn't qualify for the MBG, plus it's way over 30 days. Nope .

If a shipping label was issued to the buyer, I'd suspect either you or eBay is going to pay for the return. Even if you deny it.
Also, this is easy way to get a chargeback credit. They can file under missing credit, show proof that label was issued to them and that the label shows delivered. Almost any chargeback will accept it.

Normally if a return request is opened more than 30 days after delivery the seller is given the option to deny it. I don't understand why a label would have been issued before you were given that option.
