Getting a partial refund

I received an item that wasn't quite as advertised.  The buyer offered a partial refund which I agreed to, but I can't get the buyer to send the refund.  Is there any way to get ebay involved in this to help?

You need to open an item not as described case.

Don't see any help for getting my refund, only for returning the item which I don't want to do.

Getting a partial refund

The only thing I saw that I could do was to open a request to return the item as not as described.  I really don't want to return it but I would like to get the partial refund that the seller and I agreed to.  He has good feedback (only one negative) but now he won't respond at all.  Is there any way to get ebay to do anything except get me a full refund if I return the item?

No... eBay can't force a seller to partially refund. The question is... can you live with it at what you paid?

If not, I'd recommend that you go ahead and open the Return request. You only have 30 days from receipt of the item to file.

From a buyer side, don't mess around with partial refunds. They are really only effective in very specific cases, like overage of shipping, one item out of a set being broken, etc. and only from sellers who are willing and have the technical ability to do them correctly.

Go all or nothing as @mtgraves7984 suggested

Thanks all.  Yeah, I can live with it; just **bleep** me off.  But partial refunds are not difficult at all.  I've both given them and received them in the past; very simple.

I've given and received them, too. Yes... it's very simple. Leave honest feedback without emotion. That might ring your seller's bell. I'm just sayin'...

Unfortunately, any time you are given a choice on here (i.e. dropdown box), it's difficult (for some people).

Just ask the item not as described vs wrong item crowd.
