Hi,

I purchased an item that wasn't as described. I messaged seller with question regarding the item, but no response. The auction was tempting, so I bid and won nevertheless. I have wrote about the incident here so you get a full picture. Long story short, I finally heard back from seller that he/she was in hospital for 3 days and couldn't use ebay. Also mentioned that the item has been seen through by a specialist. I messaged back and questioned why an item that was listed as 'not used before' needed to be seen by a 'specialist'? Never heard back.

So item arrived, wasn't as described, I sent another message to seller to please explain him/herself. Not heard back. So I have requested return, and to my surprise within 10 minutes I get notification from ebay that seller accepted return. Few days go by, today I received this message from ebay:

Seller <name> let us know that they can't buy a return shipping label for you to use for <item>.

The seller is still responsible for return shipping costs, so contact them to arrange return shipping.

What do I do now? It is obvious that seller doesn't respond to my messages. Any help would be appreciated.

Since the seller accepted the return there will not be an 'ask ebay to step in' link. As stated, the seller cannot send you a label through eBay but they might be able to buy one online and then email it to you. Or, they can send you the money for a label through Paypal.

There should be an online calculator for your postal service that can tell you the cost of shipping the item back to the seller. Make sure that the method has delivery confirmation. Send a message through the open return to let the seller know what the cost will be and ask them to send the money and give them your paypal email so that they can send it. If they don't do that and don't acknowledge you then you need to contact ebay customer service to let the know that the seller is refusing to provide postage. Do NOT pay for the postage or send the item until you have the postage money or a return label.

If this was an international sale, he cannot send a label, but should fund you for the return thru PP. If he does not do that by the fourth day, ask Ebay to step in.
