Deduction on return items.

Can someone explain why eBay no longer refunds the selling fee when a deduction is made on a return? The deduction is meant to cover the loss in value due to the item being returned in a different condition. So why should either the buyer or the seller be stuck paying eBay’s original selling fee?

If I include the fee in the deduction, the buyer ends up paying more. If I don’t, I’m left covering the cost myself. How is that fair to either side?

Are you talking about the .30 transaction fee? As far as I remember, that fee was never returned.

They never did refund the FVF unless a full refund was given.

No, I am not talking about the 30 cent transaction fee. I am referring to the 12-15 percent eBay commission for every item sold.
