Why haven't you gone to your purchase history and located the purchase and hit the 'Return this item' button and got a return label? Don't let the seller string you along until your buyer protection ends.

Order information there, but don't come on order history. Just forget it & try not to buy any more from ebay.

Does not matter which venue or online merchant I buy from. If I need to return something, I follow their online return process if I want to return and be refunded.
You can go to your purchase history and file a return if it has less than 30 days from the delivery date. If you select, item was not as described, the seller will provide a return label and have to refund you.

if you used a credit card you can contact your card issuer and do a charge back. you will need the communication between you and the seller.

Is your oiler working correctly on the chain saw? Were you cutting anything that might have metal in it ie. old construction lumber etc.
I've always found that if not oiling or you hit 1 nail; the chain is toast.
