Hi,
I did buy an item in november that was a scam. So I asked immediately to send back the item to the seller to get refund. I did ship it by myself without using the return ebay shipping label (that was my first time doing that so I was a bit lost), but I still sent the tracking number to both the seller AND ebay. I even asked Ebay whereas I did well because I did not konw I would get a return shipping label from Ebay, and they confirmed be that I still did 100% right.
The seller received the item on the 21st of November (known via tracking number), and 2 weeks later I learn that my case is closed and that I will not get a refund. I am completely lost because I kept chatting with Ebay through the whole process and assured me that I was protected by Ebay and that I would get refund. It looks like a nightmare to me because this was a lot of money (more than $ 1000). I am waiting for ebay to respond to my messages about what is going on, but I wanted to know if anyone had been on the same case as I do and if they still got refund in the end? I basically dont understand that I cant get refund eventhough the seller did received back his item well. Please help me...

It sounds like you didn't add signature confirmation to your return label, @youjzq_0.
When you buy your own return label, you're responsible for any return failures.
Instead when the seller provides the return label, you'll get a refund even if the return is never delivered.
So you won't get a refund from eBay, even on an appeal. And PayPal requires signature confirmation as well on returns that cost $750 or more. But try your card issuer:
1. don't say too much,
2. file a chargeback for CREDIT NOT PROCESSED
3. and provide your return tracking number, to get your full refund.
Why Would a Customer File a Chargeback With Reason Code “Credit Not Processed?”
“Credit Not Processed” chargebacks are filed by customers who have returned their purchase but did not receive a refund from the merchant.

Thanks for your reply @xadexane . I had no idea that this kind of confirmation signature was needed as this was the first time I had to return an item/scam. When I asked Ebay services whether I did well ship back the item (with tracking number provided), they told me I was 100% ok and will get refund. I do not understand why there is an issue like that at the last moment. So that means the seller received back his item AND kept the money (> 1000$ US) just because I forgot a signature?!

I hope you are able to get your money back OP. It's a trashy seller who would get the item returned to them and keep the money too on a technicality.
