I purchased an item on Sunday and Realized I needed to cancel the order. I did. I contacted the seller three times with no answer. He ships the item anyway and still no answer after my 4th attempt to contact. What solution does ebay have for something like this?

Buyers have a short window to request canceling an order and sellers aren't obligated too, they may not of even see the request or messages in time. Some shippers have a warehouse and once they turn over the order it's difficult to halt, my post office is next door so it's not uncommon that I've dropped the item off in the first 30 minutes.
There's not much to be done, if the seller accepts returns you can request a remorse return and pay to ship it back. Alternatively you can keep the item and of resale it.

You didn't cancel. You can request a cancellation, but there is no guarantee that it will be accepted. Be sure before you hit buy it now. Cancelling orders costs sellers time and money.

Sellers aren't required to accept a cancellation request. Apparently, your seller didn't choose to cancel.
