Can i report a seller for not sending an item

I purchased 3 cards from a customer for a great deal on an Auction purchase 3 days ago. He just responded telling me he “no longer has the cards, contact ebay and they’ll give you a refund” i looked on his acc, and he reposted the 3 cards. Is there a way to report this nuisance?  Ebay won’t let me ask for a refund for another week.

Can i report a seller for not sending an item

Yes, you can report the seller.  At the top of most pages you can click on help and contact. Type in report a seller.  Click on the link and you will be given a list of problems. I would probably check off that a seller has violated one of ebay's policies. On the next page I would check off that the seller refuses to follow through on the sale.

eBay still won't make the seller send the item but it might put the seller on ebay's radar since they are trying to avoid getting an out of stock defect.

Yes, you can open a case for an item not received.

When the estimated date of delivery passes by one day go to the item in your purchase history and click "I didn't receive it" the seller will have 2 business days to respond with either tracking showing delivery or issue a refund. If after 4 business days you don't get either response go back to the case and click ask ebay to step in.

If you do decide to leave them feedback, just make sure you do not make it personal or include anything that would have Ebay remove it. Keep it professional and polite while reporting your experience.

The seller should have refunded you for Out Of Stock.

You can go to the items purchased and leave FB -

"Bought 3 cards, seller messaged that they will not ship and I should request a refund. Seller has relisted these same cards - Buyers beware"

As soon as you can file a Not Received case, do it.

Dont mention filing a case in your FB...

These are all valid responses and the only recourse you have. Now here's what you aren't going to like: Even if you leave negative feedback, it might make you feel a little better, but that isn't the same as reporting the seller for fraudulent activity. This seller clearly knows the system, instead of refunding your purchase, he's making you jump through hoops and in the end, eBay will have to refund the money to you and he gets to do the same thing to someone else. And here's the kicker, even IF you were able to report the seller and showed proof, eBay doesn't care... And here's why. eBay gets a % of every sale. They used to kick people off the site for scamming, misleading, ripping people off, but now they don't because it cut's into profits. They justify this by saying we have 'Buyer Protection' and that's supposed to make everyone feel better, but it's **bleep**. They allow sellers with 1000's of negative feedback to continue scamming because they also have 10's of thousands of positive feedback sales, which eBay gets a piece of  each, so it's worth it to them to occasionally step in and issue a refund and continue 'looking the other way' on the scamming they do as long as they keep getting paid.

It's the old seller needs a 'loan' quick scheme.

Seller opened account on August 12th...so seller doesn't get your funds for 30 days since seller is a new seller on eBay.

Seller thought he would get your payment in a few days.

The laugh is on the new seller.

You left feedback already so no one will probably buy from him anyway.

Seller probably didn't realize your payment would be on hold for 30 days.

You can do an item not received one day after estimated date of delivery...for the refund.

Here's another fun fact: not only leaving that feedback but the seller will not receive your payment until after September 12th.

Asking for the refund payment from eBay will probably come out of seller's banking source.

So, no need to report seller.

Seller is in so much damage control at this point it's not even funny.

In the listing, you saw an estimated date of delivery.  When that day arrives, if you've not received your purchase, you can open an item not received case the following day.

The reason you can't ask for a refund before that is because you have to given the goods enough time to get to you, even though you know that won't happen.

While you're waiting, please read the Money Back Guarantee.

Your " seller " is right about eBay will give you a refund.  However, they seem quite clueless as to just how that works.  Sounds like a new seller?  I don't see them becoming an old one either.

You will have to wait one day past the delivery date to file an item not received case.

You can leave feedback but, I don't think that seller will be around too long.

Hi @trader-nick

If you don’t want to wait a week to begin a claim with eBay … you can request a chargeback from your credit card company.  It has the added advantage of costing the seller an extra $20.

I am writing to you again. I placed an order on April 3rd and it was suppose to arrive on April 15th and here it is May 5th and I still have not received it. You contacted the seller and they said they would send it out the next day and they would even send me an extra syrup at no charge. You then closed this matter without it being resolved.  I would really appreciate you getting back to me on this matter. I will not stop till I get my three syrups or my money back. Thank you! Lori.

You really needed to start your own thread.  The one to which you're posting is from 2024.

When you post here, you're not addressing eBay.  We are a group of fellow eBayers who come here to help others.  And this is the first message I see for you under this ID.

ALL eBay buyers, as well as sellers, need to familiarize themselves with eBay's Money Back Guarantee, preferably before they begin buying or selling here.

You saw an estimated delivery date in the listing where you made this purchase.  If it's at least one day past that date and you've not received it, you had 30 days from the EDD to open an item not received case.

You need to read the details of the MBG.

PS:  Not a good idea to post contact information on a public forum.
