Hello all,
So, I made the mistake of buying an item without going through all of the seller's reviews. And unfortunately there were a lot of people saying that the item was either damaged due to the seller not wrapping the item well before shipping or that the item just looked **bleep** in general.
Which leads me to my question, if the item that I purchased comes and it is not brand new and completely undamaged, would I be able to return it?
I have taken screenshots of the item description stating that the item is brand new and has no damage, just in case the item doesn't come as described.
I have already tried to message the seller to ask them if the item is for sure brand new and undamaged but I have yet to get a response.
Please help!
Thank you!

When you buy on ebay, there are up's and downs. I would not worry. Ebay covers you with their MBG (Money-Back Guarantee)
And if the seller decides to give you something different , I would take @lamber9347 's advice on opening that return. The reason you mark it as "Item Not As Described" is because other reasons can fall into a remorse return that the seller can decline. And yes, you get one return request. The INAD (Item Not As Described) will force the seller to let you keep the item and refund you or they pay for a return label, you ship the item back and get a refund.
And lets say worst case they don't do anything. You just let ebay step in, and well they are going to face the wrath of ebay. And you will get your money back
So to TL;DR it, you are covered as a buyer on eBay. So if something isn't wrong you can open a return request.

If there's something wrong with that item, you can open the case Item not as described, wait for the seller send you the return shipping label, then return the item, and you will get the refund.

Okay, thank you for the information.
I am just a little bit worried because there are some reviews claiming that the seller refused to return the item and even completely blocked people's accounts.
However, there were way more positive reviews about the seller, so who knows!

@c.j.smo_82 First you are putting the cart before the horse. Just wait until you actually receive your item before worrying if you need to return it.
That said, you have purchased an item on a platform that offers a money back guarantee so you have nothing to worry about. Just follow the procedures for a return if needed. Go to your purchase history and select the item. Mark it as item not as described, which is the option you need to select. You only get one chance at opening a return case so take your time and choose this option. Seller will have to send you a return label and then all you have to do is print the return label and ship it back before the time period ends. Very simple and you will receive a full refund. Doesn't matter if the seller accepts returns or not, this is a MBG, period. Best of luck to you....
