I was forced to take a return (buyer lied and said not as described) and the buyer didn’t use the shipping label I uploaded but instead sent to wrong address in another city far from me.
It’s a very expensive item or else I wouldn’t be bothered. How should I proceed? Thanks I’m advance.

You need to get proof from the post office where this item was sent. Call that post office and get on the phone with the postmaster and get the package forewarded back if you can. I think you can becuase you are the sender, but not sure. Explain to them that this person used a different address than the one you have on their account here on Ebay. Call Ebay with this immediately and get your evidence to them.

If there package has already been retrieved by the recipient, you can still get the address where it was sent possibly through their GPS system it must be recorded somewhere. The Postmaster will assist you.

Your return address zip code is in the ebay system. If you offered them a return shipping label, therefore Ebay knows where this return should have been sent in this case. If the zip code does not match the one you have on your account this is mail fraud.

" I think you can becuase you are the sender"
OP said this was a return from a buyer.

Yes it is a return that was sent to the wrong address.

Yes, the buyer is the sender so I do not know what the Post office will do here. They can possibly retrieve the info of where the item was sent and provide some info that the seller can use to show this return was possibly purposely sent to the wrong address. Possible scam attempt. Delivered equals seller got item back but seller did not get the item back, and who knows what the buyer sent back.

That was a scam from the start. If it was shipped US postal service, there is an 800 number on their web site.

If it is a different zipcode you should just call it in.

In a case like this, scammers send returned items to the same zip code and the wrong address; USPS tracking shows the item has been delivered. I called USPS to open the case. The next day my local postal office manager called and said the package was given to the correct address but not our address. I had her send an email explaining this. After all of prepare, I am going back to eBay to fight
1. I checked the tracking information, and the buyer used first-class mail (first-class max weight is 16oz)to return, but my item weight over 4 lb.
2. I sent a message to the buyer saying you sent the item to the wrong address, and I got a letter from USPS, also uploaded on eBay message.
3. call eBay to tell them what happened, and the agent said he would close the case in the buyer's favor based on the payment agreement. Meantime, he opened the case for me to appeal.
nightmare start
first appear,
Agent Charwin reviews the case and issues the buyer a full refund; he said tracking shows the package has been delivered to you, but he needs additional documentation from USPS, such as a delivery report from USPS.
I called USPS to ask for help, and they told me this package was not for me. They couldn't give me a report and mentioned the letter they emailed me for my machine to support that I didn't receive my package.
The Second appears,
Agent Sherylyn looked at the case, and she needed a USPS letter again but didn't give me an upload link to upload.
I had been kicking around because if I win the case, funds will come from eBay, not from the buyer, which is why it is so hard to get money back.
I had 15-20 cases like this within three years. Buyers used their shipping label sent to the wrong address or changed the return address on the original shipping label.
eBay needs to do something about this kind of scam!
I have been selling on eBay for over 22 years and have 99.8 feedback based on 22270.
I hope. My case and experience will help you.
