Here's the details:
The buyer purchased this item at 7:28am on 11/21/24.
The item was shipped out at 1:25pm on 11/21/24 (Same Day)
Tracking Number: (Withheld) via USPS
The buyer then messaged me at 3:53pm, stating "Cancel This"
I responded at 3:55pm, informing them it was "Too late, they have already been shipped out"
Buyer responded at 3:56pm: "These will not work. I will be returning these in that case."
I responded at 4:12pm,: "As stated in the listing: "All items are sold AS-IS, AS SHOWN, NO RETURNS. Review all pictures and ask any questions you have prior to purchasing."
-I included 2 screenshots of the item's listing, 1 showing my eBay policy that clearly states No Returns right under the item price, along with in the item description itself that I add to every listing.
-Buyer at 4:13pm replied: "Too late already returned" and then at 4:26pm "Sorry bud but someone isn’t getting paid"
-I replied at 4:31pm stating the No Returns info again.
To which the buyer replied at 4:32pm "That’s fine but like I said I have already returned it", followed up by "As we speak it is heading back to you"
Remember, this is all only a few hours after it had been shipped out.
This is clearly not true, as tracking info still shows it moving through system, so to say it "Is already heading back" is clearly a lie.
I contacted eBay after this, and they reviewed the info, made some notes on their end, gave me a service request number, and told me to call back if the buyer opens a Return request as they clearly stated in the messages that they bought the wrong thing, and choosing another reason for return would be against policy.
What I did not expect the following morning, today, was the buyer to have already opened a Payment Dispute claiming they "Haven't received their item"
Again this is quite obvious as it had just shipped out yesterday late afternoon, and estimated delivery is Monday 11/25.
I supplied all the supporting info I could in the Challenge Dispute page, my return policy clearly stated, screenshots of messages, etc., so now I have to wait for that to play out.
Anyone ever deal with something like this before? I now have $300 on hold due to this, and it says: "We'll let you know when we hear back from the buyer's payment institution. This usually takes 2-8 weeks, but sometimes longer."

Why don’t you work with your shipper to get back your item?

I'm sure you know, but No Returns doesn't mean anything on Ebay. Not sure why they even have that option still. I guess it helps for people who play by the rules. Chances are Ebay showed them a cheaper option after they bought yours. Check the buyers feedback in a day or so and you may see a purchase of showing this. Did you by chance check feedback the buyer has left for sellers? Sometimes can show a dishonest pattern.
