Buyer returning item after 30 days - return policy.

My return policy is 30 days - I pay shipping.  A return request was initiated but item was not sent back within the 30 days.   Now I get notification that item is on its way back to me after the 30 days.  This is very frustrating- is there anything I can do about this?  I will contact eBay for help as well - just wanted to see if this had happened to others.

The buyer has 30 days from delivery to initiate the return.  You don't have to have the item back within 30 days.  Go and look at your returns tab and see the date eBay gives for the buyer to have returned the item, you might be surprised.

@dawnholland  typically,  a buyer has approximately 23 days to get the item in the mail after the return is approved and prepaid shipping label provided. EBay will automatically close the return case on or after the 23 days if the buyer does not get a carrier scan on the return item.

If you were notified that the item is on the way, that means the return was still open. 

As the other poster above stated, check the return status as it will track the package back to the seller.
