Hi, a buyer wants to return an item to me. I have no problem with the return. He hasn't opened a case. How do I send him a return label? Should I do this without him opening a case? Thanks

Buyer Wants Return Shipping Label with no Case...
Kneejerk reaction: Maybe your buyer has lost MBG privileges. Do tell us more about the reason for return... 🤔

One way is you could ask him to return the item and then you could refund the shipping fee via refund check in the mail.

Hi, its a small military pin. $20. He said item didn't match photos. He said he didn't want to send it back he wants a partial refund. He said he felt he was being ripped off.

No. NO . No . You do NOT refund by check because the buyer can still open a case and return a rock and get a refund. To the poster, the buyer is looking for a discount. Tell him to open an item not described case. Then to pack the item and return it with the shipping label that you are going to send him. I would rather pay the return shipping to get the item back before I give this cheapstake a partial refund. He saw the photos. He just wants a discount.

You could tell him too that you feel like you are getting ripped off by him but that might get him mad. He is just looking for a partial refund.

I don't do partial refunds as well. He can return it with his tracking and then you can refund him, hopefully he opens a case for item being returned. With the tracking you have to refund him even if it's a rock in the box. It's a small value that was sold and depending on the partial refund you really have to think about this. Was it a good email(s) back and forth? If the conversation didn't go nice with the buyer I would do the partial refund.

To protect yourself against negative feedback it would be preferable if he opens a case. As long as you handle the case correctly and refund him when you get the item any negative feedback he leaves will be deleted.
Just message him back and say:
I am happy to fully refund you for the item once I get it back in its original condition. Feel free to open a return.

Just send him a partial refund. The amount (10.00?) is nothing and you miss out on a NAD hit.
Doesn't sound like your buyer is happy, and for 10 bucks you can make it all go away??
What are you doing?
