Accidentally put wrong sneaker size, authenticators rejected, then returned different shoes

I accidentally had the wrong shoe size on the listing when the buyer bought the shoes I was selling. It was rejected by eBay "authenticators", since sizing was 1/2 size off. They emailed me and advised I send them a return label (which I sent) and today I receive a sneaker that is completely different from the one I sent in.

They are not responding to any of my emails and have refused to let me speak with an online chat rep. What can I do in this situation?

Would rather pay the fees on StockX or GOAT than ever deal with ebay again....

There was another thread I saw where the shoe authenticators sent the completely wrong shoes to a buyer ... now this.  The authenticators - I think they are called Sneaker Con - seem to be having a problem with their inventory control and logistics.

You have a couple of choices ...

  1. You can try to find someone at Sneaker Con to correct the problem, or you can try to find someone at eBay to help you (good luck with that last one).
  2. You can just sell the shoes you got back ... hopefully the price difference is not too much.

That also means who ever was to get the shoes returned to you received the wrong item too. What a mess !

I've certainly NOT heard any 'warm fuzzies' reports from the shoe authenticators so far. And still haven't. 😟

request arbitration which you get to pay for against eBay......

Or get legal advice and or file fraud and theft with law enforcement against the authentication service.

Such is so if they sent you back the wrong item and are not actively trying to correct the mistake: it could be an internal theft or just plain policy to steal from you ....

Get on em...
