Hello! 🙌
Please join the Community team at 1pm Pacific this Wednesday for our weekly chat. We do not have a set topic this week so feel free to ask us your buying or selling questions or share what's on your eBay mind.
Last week I shared a link to a survey we're currently conducting regarding the weekly chat format. Thanks to everyone that has taken the time to give us feedback, we've received some great insights and suggestions for improvements already! If you haven't yet taken the survey, please do so via this link.
Talk to you tomorrow!

Ok, well thank you very much Alan. I'm reaching out...lol. How exactly do I, and other sellers pass this information along?

Good afternoon everyone!
I am having issues with the search for the past week. I input small bubble wrap 350 ft in search and get all kinds of other sizes instead. Is this a known issue?
Also why do I receive emails on items I have previously purchased over 6 months or so ago that they are available still?
Thanks in advance!
When I run a search for the same thing I see a large number of items at just 350 ft, but also some others with different total lengths in the title, but they also all include an option for 350 ft. If you are seeing items that don't have any relevence to your search please let us know.
If you're following a search you could be receiving periodic emails. To know more specifically I'd need to know what the email is titled to determine why it's generating for you.

Tyler - I only ran Firefox when it was happening. Have not listed anything since 2pm EST, so I don't know if it continues. Clearing cache and all made zero difference. Downdetector had a huge areas lit up around the sme time, mainly in New England, DC, UK, and Australia.

Last week Trinton answered one of my querstions just as the session was closing. I'd like to follow-up on that. Here's Trinton's post:

Trinton, So, while as a seller I'll be able to give a buyer a partial refund that I feel is justified (because , for example, the buyer returned a previously unopened item, opened.)....but...if the buyer is unhappy and doesn't appeal it to ebay, I can get hit with a neg?
What if the buyer does appeal it to ebay? And ebay backs me up? I could still get hit with a neg?
The buyer would be able to leave feedback, including a negative if they feel this is appropriate. They are able to do this currently and we won't be making any changes to this procedure, as the buyer's feedback of their experience is important for you to hear. As I'm sure you are aware, the feedback has no impact on your seller performance rating and exists for your reference to improve where you see fit.
Additionally, a buyer's appeal would not have any relationship to the feedback or your account. That would solely be between eBay and the buyer.
Could you explain what the bold italicized section means?
What role, if any, would a seller play in the buyer's appeal? How will these appeals work? If I give a buyer a partial refund of $20 on a $45 transaction, would it be possible for ebay to take out $25 from my account and refund the balance? Or....? I'm totally confused about the mechanics of the appeal process.

Hello Alan, and assumably Heidi, Trinton, and the new arrival Tyler.
I had a question in regards to recent... issues that have been popping up in regards to search problems. It has been stated through multiple posts that mostly on Chrome, for at least a day there were literally no search results unless you went through specific search channels, has this issue been addressed COMPLETELY (that's important) and what sort of updates on this issue can we expect?
I shouldn't need to link to these topics as they should no doubt have ended up on your radar without my assistance.
Another thing, I've noticed my listing impressions are down HEAVILY and I want to know if this is a common trend due to the aforementioned search issues, I'm not asking for specifics but certainly you have access to certain metrics that can be publicly stated with a yay or nay. This is a yes or no question.
Thirdly, can you put in a request to be able to change the background colour for the new listing page please? A lot of people like white, and that's fine with me, but the way the new listing format page is setup there's far more white and that is absolutely blinding to me and I often have to lower the brightness on my computer screen in order to not have my eyeballs blazed out of my head trying to post a new listing, a simple day/night style feature like a lot of other websites have would be nice, or even just an option to change the background colour with a few different ones (as I have mentioned multiple times I prefer a tannish cream colour as it's smooth and bright but doesn't sear my retnas out of my head).
Aside from those three questions I don't off the top of my head or at this very moment have any other questions and I'm distracted doing an inventory check so I may not respond to anything immediately, but I will ask if I have any other questions, as there's one poking at the back of my brain I wanted to ask today but alas I am at a loss for remembering what that question was, but it's important.
Hi there!
First, this issue was fully addressed as of yesterday. It looks like search issues were only occuring for a small portion of site users, but it should all be resolved now. If you are still running into trouble, keep us posted.
Second, not able to give a yes or a no on this as there are a variety of factors that can affect visibility.
Third, I can definitely put in this request for you, no problem!
Good luck with the inventory check and let us know if you remember your other question 🙂

Why are political posts allowed on help boards ? When a newbie seller can't even find eBay's phone number, they somehow find the Community members board, Only to be greeted with Dark printed headlines such as "Hillary Having Trumps Baby" from this "soapbox". Or word games, or other non eBay stuff. These help boards should be used to help eBayers and not the lastest news from TV. Any comments on this Alan?
Political posts are permitted on our off-topic boards, such as Cafe and The Soapbox. They are not permitted on our Buying & Selling discussion boards. We'll continue to review our usage board policy to ensure that visiting the Community is a safe and enjoyable experience for all. We don't want users put off using the Community by posts of a political nature.
Thanks for bringing this up.

Any chance we can get the Classic Uploader back? I need to be able to select a list of images with file names visible and then let them upload in sequence while I am temporarily away from my computer.
Right now, it's necessary to add images one-by-one and wait for each to load fully before selecting the next image. This is so time-consuming and completely unnecessary!
