Veteran's Day Postal holiday is incorrect when printing shipping labels.  USPS celebrates the holiday on Oct 11th, not the 10th.

You can't print USPS shipping labels for Oct 10th, but you can for the 11th. The postal holiday is the 11th, not the 10th, the holiday logic is incorrect!.

Hi @dtexley3

Thanks for sharing. I will share this information with our Shipping team.

Re: Community Chat, Nov 8th @ 1pm PT - General Topics

I have a thread about this, but the Order status is not always being updated to Delivered when I go to view Orders Awaiting Feedback.

I've noticed lately items still showing "shipped" when it's well past when I would expect them to be delivered.  If I click on the tracking number to view the tracking it shows delivered.  The orders page still shows "Shipped on xxxxxx".   Refresh the page and it now shows Delivered.

There's some sort of lag in the updating.

Hi friends,

After 11 months with no problems, that issue where I don't receive credit for all of the items I sell for a given month.  For example, in October, I had 24 sales.  Seller Level in Seller hub shows only 21 sales.  The dollar amounts is off (lower) as well.  This data is used to calculate my seller performance.  If you check the Orders section for the month of October, those numbers are correct.

Here's some more info from last December:

Hi Heidi, I think I heard on eBay radio that eBay now acknowledges that there is a problem with sellers not getting all due credit for items sold towards the Top Rated Seller program.  We were told that there was no action for the seller to take and that the fix would automatically happen.  As of this month I am still not getting credit for all the items I sell even though 100 % are eligible.  Can you provide an update on this fix?   I play by the rules and want to get credit for all the items I sell so that I maintain Top Rated Seller status.   Thanks, DJ

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
DJ

Hi @djmovers99 - that sounds a bit odd. While any international sales wouldn't count towards your domestic Top Rated totals, they should still be showing as total sales in your dashboard. Happy to reach out to you for more details.

Re: Community Chat, Nov 8th @ 1pm PT - General Topics

I think someone in the fraud department, if there is on, might want to take a look at this. They can't possibly reproduce one-of-a-kind items, and seem only to want Visa, Mastercard, and personal information.  Every single item they sell is someone's eBay listing.
FIREMODERN.TOP and BOUTIQUESFAD.TOP
If you're a seller, they're probably listing your goods.  But not shipping them, because that would be impossible.

Re: Community Chat, Nov 8th @ 1pm PT - General Topics

Four of my listings have photos in them of the item I'm selling, grabbed from my website.

(These are really old listings, from the time when you had to pay 35¢ to have ONE picture on your listing, but I really think they add to the likelihood of a sale, so I'd like to keep them if I can.)

eBay doesn't like them because they aren't coming from eBay URLs.

Is there a way to make my "ebaypix" folder an acceptable link source?
Alternatively, is there any free or inexpensive location where I can stash them and continue to include them in my listings?

Re: Community Chat, Nov 8th @ 1pm PT - General Topics

From the Announcement Board:

"Partial Refund Option for Free Returns

Sellers who offer free returns--free return shipping and no restocking fees--now have the option to give less than full refunds. You can deduct up to 50% of the item price if the returned item is damaged, missing parts, or otherwise not in the same condition as when you shipped it"

I offer free return shipping and no restocking fee. Must I affirmatively "opt in" to this in some way, or am I qualified to make the deduction simply because I meet the qualifications?

Bringing up this issue again:

Please consider making the "request total from seller" or "request invoice" always enabled on the Cart page. We continue to run into issues where the IPR settings, seller error (like me), Items on sale, and other reason make it impossible for the buyer to request a combined total with any shipping discounts.

The best outcome would be for the button to be fixed so it works properly, but since this is the holiday sales season, please consider just making this always active and fix the code after the holidays.

Hi @dtexley3 The situations that I know of off the top of my head where a buyer cannot request a total are as follows:

  1. Only a single item in the cart.
  2. Items from multiple sellers in the cart.
  3. The seller already has combined shipping set up.
  4. The seller has elected in their listing to require immediate payment.

While I don't believe requesting a total for some of these scenarios would not be appropriate, I can definitely pass along your request to have this addressed so the option is available more often. If you have any specific examples related to these four situations or can think of another I've missed, definitely let me know!

More importantly, how does anyone PROVE that the item was returned damaged?  How does this intersect with MBG?

Re: Community Chat, Nov 8th @ 1pm PT - General Topics

I have a couple of questions regarding the Automatic Acceptance for Returns policy.

In the Q&A in returns it states:

If I offer free returns, will a return request be automatically accepted?

If an item has a free returns policy, the return will not be immediately accepted. You have three business days to manually accept the return and select the return shipping label option for your buyer. You will also be responsible for the cost of the label. If you do not approve the return request and select a label for your buyer within 3 business days, eBay will automatically approve the request and provide a label when available.

I’m unclear as to what this means in application.  I would ask so if I’m still negotiating with my buyer or otherwise still working with my buyer to resolve the issue, is Ebay going to step in and force a return when it is in the Request stage because the buyer and seller have not reached an agreement within 3 days?

If Ebay forces the return while it is in the Request stage, even though the buyer and seller have been communicating, will this count against the seller in their stats?

The other one is this:

When do return requests qualify for automatic acceptance?

To qualify, return requests must meet one of these criteria:

  • "Buyer doesn't want the item anymore" (return reason codes include "doesn't fit," "changed my mind," "found a better price," "just didn't like it," or "ordered by mistake")
  • Requests meet the seller's listing returns policy
  • The return is domestic and will be shipped within the US
  • The buyer pays for return shipping
  • The return is not an exchange or replacement request

Does that mean, you don’t have to be signed up for the automatic returns?  If it is a buyer’s remorse claim, Ebay will automatically process the return without the seller’s involvement?

Hi @vrykalak

Best practice would be to upload all of your photos to the eBay image gallery. You should be able to upload 12 photos per listing. I advise against embedding photos in your descriptions as more and more buyers use mobile devices to view and purchase, and images in descriptions tend to not render well on mobile devices.

Thanks.

There can be up to a 24 hour delay for our system to access details from the third party shippers, and if you see examples that are beyond this timeframe I'd be happy to look into them. Can you provide some item numbers where this is happening?

Re: Community Chat, Nov 8th @ 1pm PT - General Topics

Please change the "request total from seller" form to be just a request for a total price, and NOT a commitment to buy.

Requesting a total is NOT the same as saying "I know we're still negotiating item prices and shipping, but I agree to your total price even though I don't know what it is yet".

Thank you

Hi Trinton,

You are forgetting that you and I, and some others determined that if any one item in the cart was on sale or had free shipping the button gets disabled.  That's the one that's hanging people up most of the time.

My personal recent issue, as you may remember, was with combined shipping, due to my error of not having the combined shipping checkbox checked on one of the two items.  Because the items were on sale the buyer was not able to request an invoice.  Luckily for me they were will to trust me to refund the shipping.  Not everyone will be that trusting.
