Any other ideas?

I had an idea - if I change my shipping from first class package to the generic 'standard shipping', would that keep the system from calculating delivery in 4 days? The generic standard shipping says 1-5 days.

thanks again,

Sue

Hi @wooden_flower, try it out and let me know what you find. At one point a specified shipping option was required for the guarantee display, but this may have changed. Historical data, your location, the buyer's location, and the shipping service all factor into our estimate.

There are multiple posts/complaints that GD dates are being displayed for items with economy and media rates selected.  I would not expect changing to standard shipping would affect this.

Hi @dtexley3, we are looking into the conversations you are referencing. As I mentioned with @wooden_flower, there was a time where a specified shipping option was a requirement for this guarantee. They can try changing some of their listings and monitor the impact for our investigation.

I didn't have to go back - I just had a new order split.

Sales record 539956 shows fast 'n free, not guaranteed delivery, 5/20. 539955 shows Guaranteed delivery: 5/20.

Sue

Just so I understand.  Are these for the same customer, same location?

Hi @vrykalak, while I understand that filling out the same information in multiple listings takes time, item specifics are category dependent, meaning they cannot be transferred between categories. Item Specifics must be reentered anytime a category is changed in a listing. However, I am happy to pass along your feedback.

If the clothing you are listing is not gender specific then you can put it in the unisex clothing category (for example, clothing, shoes & accessories > unisex clothing, shoes & accs > unisex adult clothing > T-shirts).

----

Yes, I know " Item Specifics must be reentered anytime a category is changed" but my question is WHY? when most or all of the Item Specifics don't change just because the category changes. The Item Specifics are about the ITEM, and have nothing to do with the Category placed on the listing.
And why does the Condition Description get erased, too? That makes no sense.

Yes, I can list these t-shirts in the Unisex category...and no one will ever see them if they search by category. As you pointed out last week, most people search for clothing by Men's or Women's...no one searches for Unisex clothing.
...And BTW people who search only by Men's or Women's clothing never see the many listings that show both a Men's and a Women's size.

Hi @vrykalak, while item specifics may be similar or even the same between some categories, the vast majority of categories contain different item specifics that would be relevant to the items therein. This is why these do not carry over from category to category.

As for the search example you have referenced, can you provide a URL that showcases this? If a buyer uses the keywords "Men's shoes", they should see any shoes that are for men and women in addition to shoes just for men. If the buyer is using a specific search filter, this may eliminate some items, but I would need to see a search example to identify an issue or area of improvement.

Yes - the buyer is placing a single order, the system is splitting it into 2 payments.

I have an order in my  awaiting shipping today.  I have until 5/17 to ship based on my handling time (it will go out on 5/16).  The estimated delivery on the item is 5/17 to 5/20.  The buyer selected USPS Parcel Select.  These unrealistic shipping estimates continue to display in my orders screen.

Hi @dtexley3, the estimated delivery date is calculated based on your historical shipping times. You do have the full duration of your handling time to ship the item out. However, if you usually ship items out faster than your stated handling time then this may be taken into account when the shipping estimates are calculated.

I still don't have the offer to buyers feature that was supposedly rolled out to all sellers. Any way I can get that added to my seller's hub? Thanks.

I think the seller should get FVFs back when the carrier admits the package got lost after it was submitted and recorded. And if the buyer opened an INR, and/or left negative feedback, both should be expunged.

Hi @vrykalak, thank you for taking care of your buyer! If a refund is issued through a return then a credit will be applied. If you choose to arrange a different resolution with your buyer then you can contact customer support to see what options may be available to help, such as a courtesy credit.

What about the INR and the negative feedback the buyer left before I ever knew about the problem? I certainly didn't deserve either one.

Yes, that would work if the search is by keyword.
But if the search is by the category of mens > shoes, nothing will show up.

Hi @vrykalak, if you have an example URL that would be fantastic.

Edit: Unless you are talking about reviewing listings in a specific category by selecting the category itself? This is not a common way of searching for our buyers so I am not certain how many buyers may actually be using this option and missing out. Generally, members type in search keywords in third party search engines or in eBay search when looking for something to buy.

If a seller is concerned that some of their items are not getting the visibility they need, the seller may be able to add a secondary category to capture more potential sales, depending on the categories in question. This may be an option that could benefit a seller if they have a lot of shoes that are unisex designs/sizes, and the categories are compatible.
