Thank you for the recent announcement regarding ebay protecting our seller standings. Can you please clarify? It says that our seller standards will be protected until June 20th evaluation. But some of the things that cause us to lose status stay on our account for a year. (late shipment rate, for example) I know that some things are evaluated for three months. Is this protection really going just going to delay our accounts falling below standard or losing TRS status? Or is the protection only designed to protect large accounts that are looked at with a 3 month evaluation period Could you please clarify. Thank you.Hi @golfingaddict, currently sellers are protected from having their seller standing being downgraded through the June 20th review. After June 20th seller standing reviews will proceed as usual. This is something we continue to monitor and, if needed, we will make adjustments to these protections and communicate them with the Community.
If a seller needs extra time to ship their items out then I recommend increasing their handling times to accommodate this. Additionally, if a seller does receive a defect as a clear result of COVID-19 then they should contact customer service to have the situation reviewed.
This is going to be especially problematic for sellers eval'd on the previous 12 months when Ebay has protected them from certain things having to do with our current Health Crisis.
IMHO if we deserve to be protected from it today, we deserve to be protected from it for the duration that the defect affects our account.

search engine is misbehaving in unusual ways again: searched for
- "Red Clover tea", got 79 results, including some w/o "Red Clover"
- saw some that said "pratense" so added "-pratense", got 113 results, some without ANY of my original three keywords!
...plus 7 links to non-ebay sites at the bottom!!!
Hi @vrykalak, I tested this out and searched using the same keywords (Red Clover tea) and all of the results I see are for red clover tea. As a point of clarification, Trifolium pratense is the scientific name for the Red Clover plant, so results with this term would also be appropriate. I also ran a test using the keywords: Red Clover tea -pratense, and all of the results I was presented with were also appropriate results as they contained the keywords used/were related items.
As for links to third party sites, I believe you are seeing text based advertisements. While we did remove third-party product listings ads in 2017, text based ads and graphical banners remain. You can read more about this announcement in our 2017 Spring Seller Update: https://pages.ebay.com/seller-center/seller-updates/2017spring/listings-visibility.html#m17-1-tb2

Good afternoon eBay Support Team!
Subject: Offers being sent for just opening an item
I responded to a thread today where a Buyer said they got an offer sent on an item they were NOT watching and just browsing. I seem to recall at least one other thread about this too recently.
I was doing some research and opened an item and when I got to I believe the description area there was a custom note to me (pic below). Not sure if this is just a Store feature that I am unaware of or something new.
So, these two personalized communications have left me with some questions:
1. Is the unsolicited offer just for browsing an item some kind of new test eBay is running?
2. Is the message I saw on another Seller's item (pic below) an over lay eBay does just to try and get Buyers to visit the Seller's store or is that a set up the Seller can make?
-And this begs the question ... if eBay knows who is looking at items why can't the Seller as well (if they want that information)?
3. On a semi-related topic, since Sellers can now send offers to Watchers why can't we see a list of Watcher and their IDs like we can we can for Bidders on an Auction style listing? For myself I have no desire to send offers to Watchers but I might like to check out their Feedback or see what if anything they sell.
Hi @mr_lincoln!
1. Yes, there's currently a test running for buyers who have shown significant interest in an item but are not watching the item (clicking on it more than 3 times in the past few days). They are then added to the pool of watchers eligible to receive a Seller Initiated Offer (unless they've opted out of receiving such offers).
2. This is a store setting that you can set up from your 'edit store' section. It's a widget that takes the currently logged in user and inputs that user id into the header. There's not currently a way I'm aware of for you to pull the user ids of everyone who has looked at your storefront.
3. Bidding, unlike watching an item, is a clear gesture of intent and commitment so we provide their user id to you. On the other hand, a watcher has not expressed that same level of interest, so we do not provide the same level of information.

Thanks for passing this along.
I use my iphone to print shipping labels out in my shop (away from the laptop) , and do not have the ability to create pdf's of shipping labels via the ebay app.
My workaround is to print the labels, tape the upper and lower labels together on either side of the printout, along the perforation, and cut around the barcode with scissors, remove the origamied label, and apply to the package.

I have noticed a lot of changes in how the community works. For example I can no longer use paragraphs. I not longer get the hover preview and I no longer have access to all the bells and whistles while posting. (font, quote, etc) Will you please tell me which browsers work best with the community. I think this was an issue before but it appears to me that something changed in the last month or so. Thank you.

Try reducing the size of the label to 75% - 80%.
This helped me get around that problem.

Another bad thing is I think it actually turns off buyers. This exaggerated sense of urgency to purchase. Especially when the long GD date would make an educated buyer think something is fishy...if it was actually shipped today by the stated delivery service it should be delivered much sooner than Ebay's estimated date. People know how long 1st class or Priority take.

tyler@ebay, thanks for the reply ... quick one before the Chat shuts down ... Regarding item 1 ... where do they "opt" out of offers?

A buyer requested a return/refund. The item was $10.00 with $8.52 shipping. I wanted to happily refund the full amount through PayPal. However, when I refunded it only sent her $10.00. Now I don't know how to get the shipping fee to her. Any help? Thanks so much!!
Hi @donnalmorgan - the quickest way to get this done now would be to find the original transaction in PayPal and issue the refund there. If you aren't able to do that, you could do a 'send money' transaction, though that's something I'd recommend as a last resort only.
Thanks!

Hi, I have a problem and need some help. I had a case opened against me for "ARRIVED DAMAGED". The buyer refused to upload photos of claimed damage to Original Packaging or Damaged item which was a antique $279.00 Steel counter display box. He stated in original claim "WILL NOT SUPPORT POSTAL CLAIM DUE TO BOX BEING TO SMALL AND LITTLE PACKING". I had no option but to accept the package back and had Ebay issue a return label. When I got the package back in MY ORIGINAL SHIPPING BOX, there was NO DAMAGE whatsoever to the packaging. I opened the package to inspect and found that he had destroyed my item and put it back in my original box with no damage to outer packaging. I used REPORT BUYER LINK, and Filed a report with EBAY because he clearly damaged my item and it was not due to my packing( I Know How to pack items read 1850 feed backs) or the USPS mishandling the package!
NOW THE OTHER PROBLEM-- When I went to REFUND BUYER, I was SERVED UP a NEW page that GAVE ME A OPTION TO WITH HOLD up to 50% of original price because "BUYER RETURNED A DAMAGED ITEM" or "DIFFERENT ITEM THEN I SENT". I clicked on the check box for 50% refund and was only ALLOWED TO WITH HOLD 20%. so that is what I did begrudgingly because he deserved NOTHING. The refund was processed on the March 7th.
On March 23rd I found a NEW CASE against me from this same buyer 16 days later with no information on the reason why? nothing accept a message that "EBAY WILL DECIDE ON THIS CASE IN THE NEXT 48 HRS". The case was then CLOSED AGAINST ME in the next 10 minutes with a note "EBAY HAS CLOSED THIS CASE IN THE BUYERS FAVOR AND HAS WITH DRAWN $77.97 FROM YOUR PAY-PAL ACCOUNT" "THIS CASE IS CLOSED".
I want to know why
1) I was served a NEW refund page with the option to only give a partial refund when I DO NOT OFFER FREE 30 DAY RETURNS? If I had known this crook could have come back 16 days later and file a case and get the other 20% back I would have just sucked it up and refunded this lying thief in full in order to NOT LOSE NY FINAL VALUE FEES TO EBAY. The fees cost me another $28.00.
I based my decision to refund 80% because that is what EBAY'S refund page offered me and He certainly did not deserve a full refund for what he did to my steel display case. I lost my final value fees to EBAY because I refunded a partial that ended up going back to him anyway.
3) Can I expect a CASE CLOSED WITHOUT SELLER RESOLUTION NOW FROM THIS? because I did everything correctly, and is this a case of "SO SAD TO BAD"and I am not going to be reimbursed my $28.00 in final value fees because EBAY SERVED ME A REFUND PAGE THAT I MAYBE SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN GIVEN? because I do not offer free 30 day returns? I would like a Customer Service rep to call me and go over this case from the very beggining with a fine tooth comb, there are plenty of messages, photos and proof to back up my claims and problems.
Hi @ekmadonna, I encourage you to review the thread where we have discussed this here. The protections you are looking for for eBay to support a less than full refund require certain eligibility requirements to be met and based on what you have provided in the related thread, you do not meet those requirements. If you have follow up questions about the case specifics or the specifics of your account, I encourage you to continue communicating with Customer Service.

Is there a time frame to address several shipping module issues that have been asked in various forums?
Two major things for me:
1. The inability to change the ship from zip code across my account. I have to change the zip each and every time unless I use bulk shipping
2. and we desperately need a way to print labels throughout the day and be able to select the day's labels for a SCAN sheet for the post office. I can't wait for the end of the day to do them all at once in the bulk module (which I hate to use because I find it easy to make mistakes).
Hi @glgenterprise, changing the ship from address here should update it for all labels going forward. If this isn't updating properly then please tag me in a thread so I can get it reported.
While we don't have a feature that allows scan sheets to printed in this way, it's definitely a suggestion I can pass along. Thanks!

Something I notice on the Shipping Label Screen.
The order in which the Dimensions for a package appear on the Shipping Label Screen are NOT in the same order in which they are on the Listing Forms. Sorry I don't have a screen shot. I forgot to do that before I completed my shipping this morning.
But the Shipping label screen leads with the thickness of the package and on the Listing form, that is the last field.
Hi @mam98031 - that's a really interesting observation. Have you noticed if it grabs the same values from each box (length still inputs length, but it's now in a different order) or is it moving the values into different boxes (length in the listing form now shows in the height box)?
Oops, the chat is now closed, would you tag me to a thread with more detail?
