When Ebay has launched major potentially controversial changes in the past, it has allowed sellers to opt out (e.g. guaranteed delivery). Given that third party surveys have found that 72% of their respondents found forced GTC to be a "bad change," can you share EBay's reasoning in not allowing an opt out here?
Hi @dgn5009 - we believe that a shift to Good Til Cancelled duration allows us to better leverage member's items in external search, aiding their traffic and increasing the likelihood that an item sells. Opting out of such a process is counter to that vision.

When does ebay remove GTC listings due to staleness or whatever.
Hi @fern*wood, the 1 year mark is the timeframe to be aware of. Listings that have gone unsold for longer than 1 year may be removed ended and moved to the Unsold section.

Hi @coffeebean832 - thanks for this suggestion, I've passed it on to the proper team. 🙂

I see on the Announcement Board that ebay is running a make offer test (BTW, thanks for actually announcing it, rather than letting us guess about what is going on). The new test allows select buyers to choose the durations of their offers: rather than the default 48 hours, they can choose for their offer to be good for 12, 24, or 48 hours. I can see the value in this, and will be interested in seeing how it works out. My question is: If I receive a 12 hour offer from a buyer, do I have a choice of duration for my counter offer? Or will my counter offer be the standard 48 hours? (I'm guessing the standard 48 hours, but that's just my guess.)Hi @my-cottage-books-and-antiques - this is a good question we've been looking for an answer on today - we're still waiting to get more detail but I'll update you as I hear back on this one!
Hi @my-cottage-books-and-antiques - I heard back on this!
"In the current test, counteroffers are set at 48 hours. Based on the test and feedback we'll evaluate that as a possibility."
I've passed the feedback I've found so far on the matter, and hope to see this as an option in a future test! *fingers crossed*
