eBay has told us that some time in the near future Paypal will be added into the approved managed payments options for buyers to use.

Are all sellers payment processing fees going to be the same regardless which payment option a buyer chooses, albeit Adyen, paypal, apple pay or any others that eBay might approve?

If not could you explain in simply terms why it might be different?

I would also like to request at this time that the managed payments team schedule a chance to participate in this weekly chat again very soon as there is a lot of talk about the coming changes.

Good Luck Selling!

Hi @goodluckselling

We can't speak to how fees may be charged in the future; currently, the processing fee is per transaction, regardless of the payment method used by the buyer.

We'll ask the payments team to join an upcoming chat. Don't forget, if you have any burning questions you can contact the team directly on: 800-456-3229.

Thank you.

Thanks for posting the phone number ...

I try to model listings like a Brick and Mortor store .... I don't see that so much as a business model as simply trying to organize things to facilitate a Buyer who is looking for something specific and can find more choices of the same item quickly ...

There are some left side bar options when a buyer clicks on see other items which include the popular categories for the listings showing on the current first page.

Here are the various GTC related solutions discussed on the forums that I believe deserve serious consideration.

  • Allow out-of-stock to be applied to individual GTC listings in addition to all or nothing.
  • Provide a "scheduled end date" option for GTC that is similar to scheduled start.
  • Add automation rules for GTC that allow "end after one cycle" or "end after this cycle" or "end after n cycles" or "end when sold out".
  • Change the GTC cycle to 31 days.

Just to add a little note to this.  GTC do end when sold out, unless you are using the OOS function, then they stay active, but buyer's can't purchase from them until you add more stock.

mr lincoln, Olive branch here---I'd applaud if the store team wants to give sellers the OPTION of using a "see store" link to either take the buyer to the store's home page OR the store category. I'd like the seller to be able to set that as a preference. But there are a lot of things I'd like to see the Stores Team give us, but stores haven't changed in ages. I'm not sure there IS a stores team anymore.

Re: Community Chat, March 13 @ 1:00 pm PT - General Topics

There have been posting on the boards that ebay has not been offering the $5.00 Voucher for late arrival on Guaranteed delivery.
stating it's options for a free return or for the Original  shipping charge

Is this a change not reflected in the policy pages?
Also if a seller offers free shipping and a buyer doesn't want the  free return with no $5.00 voucher what do they have?

Just wanted clarification on this

Thanks

I would be happy to have a further discussion later this evening or tomorrow with you within the thread that you started within the selling forum.

The expert at the phone number have not been honest to us and did indeed make promises that I knew was not right so I emailed at the link provided and was told what that person said is not right and there is no way to answer that with an apology.

It is as if you have commission salespeople who will tell you anything in order to get you signed up.

Re: Community Chat, March 13 @ 1:00 pm PT - General Topics

Alan or Trinton, Are there any plans in the works for ADDING a STORE TIER Between Premium and ANCHOR? there is an enormous gap there, I used to have an Anchor store and decided it was better for my business to not pony up the money when the Anchor store fee DOUBLED, I was comfortable with $180 a month but now I am stuck in between a rock and a hard place with the enormous gap between Premium (Not Enough Listings for me) and the Anchor store which I used to Have( way to pricey) although I have thousands of items I could list, so it is not too large with Listings. Why such a large difference between the 2 store levels listing allotment and price?

Hi @buyselljack2016, this is a great callout! I will look into this further and update you once I have more solid information

@Anonymous- you could update everybody by posting to the thread on the selling forum about this: https://community.ebay.com/t5/Selling/OOS-at-listing-level/m-p/29592263

Sure, @Anonymous! Once I have more details I will post here and there, no problem.

I'm not sure how to really get this info out to eBay especially buyers. But there are sellers on eBay selling vehicle tires without providing the DOT manufacturer code. The last 4 digits of the code represent the week and year the tire was made and should not be used 6 years after this date. This is a tire industry recommendation and DOT regulation. I recently (2/19) purchased a "new" tire and mounted it. About a week later it was flat without ever being on the road. I finally found a pin hole leak in the sidewall. After some checking I found out about the 6 year rule. I contacted the seller who refused my return because I mounted it! I now have eBay involved in the return matter. I checked with another seller who was selling the same tire as a used "take-off" but never on the road, he said his tire was over 11 years old! Tire shops will not even think about mounting a tire that old and they return/discard all tires that are 6 years old.
Attached is the DOT stamp on my tire, all tires manufactured after 2000 are required to have this.
Tire Safety Group:

For most tires, this expiration date should be six years from the date of manufacture.  Tires age dangerously because of a chemical process commonly referred to as oxidation, which simply means that as the tire components are exposed to oxygen, the oxygen particles cause the flexible components of a tire to harden and become brittle. Over time, the tire will simply fall apart under normal stress, just like an old rubber band. Because this process occurs naturally, it does not matter if a tire is being used, stored as a spare, or simply waiting on a store shelf for an unsuspecting consumer.

Hi @desertboss - thanks for sharing this information and I hope that your return works out.

I know that we are working on ways to standardize the kinds of information required when a tire is being listed for sale and it sounds like this should be a consideration for sure! I'll make sure the right folks get this info.

I enjoy the Volume Pricing tool.  We were told last year that in January of 2019 we would be able to use this tool on Variation Listings.  Is there any update to when it may arrive?

Hi @mam98031, I don't have any new information about this. I'll see if I can get an update and let you know what I find!

Concerning Selling Manager and Selling Manager Pro

When Seller Hub was coming in were we not told that these would go away as well as TL?

What is the situation with these?

Hi @papermoneyforme, while many of the features of Selling Manager/Selling Manager Pro are included in Seller Hub, they have not gone away to my knowledge. You can check out more details on these tools here and let me know if you have any specific questions or concerns about the features they provide.

Hi Trinton, I know they are still there. I was asking if they ARE going away some time in the not too distant future, the same as TL is supposed to?

Hi @papermoneyforme, sorry for the confusion! I read "When Seller Hub was coming in were we not told" as "When Seller Hub was coming in we were not told".

I can confirm that there are no plans to eliminate Selling Manager or Selling Manager Pro at this time*. We have talked in the past about how the goal of Seller Hub is to provide an all inclusive tool for our sellers, so this may have been where our lines got crossed.

*Note: I want to provide a disclaimer that my use of the phrase "at this time" should not be over analyzed; this is simply our standard way of qualifying our statements so that if anything changes in the future, our confirmations are not seen as promises that have been broken. Normally this disclaimer is not necessary, but since the chat has closed and there have been a lot of recent changes announced, I wanted to provide this addendum to prevent any undue distress or misinterpretation.

Also, on the topic of Sales Velocity, last year at ebay Open I was told by ebay that you guys were working on replacing the clunky codeless coupon with a more useful coded coupon. Any word on that?

Also, last year, in the early Seller Updates, we were told changes were coming to ebay stores formats, etc. Later I was told those updates were apparently scrapped or put on the back burner. Anything you can share on that? Maybe have the Stores Team attend a Weekly Chat soon?

Hi @my-cottage-books-and-antiques - still no word on the implementation of a coded coupon. We also don't have any changes to store formats other than the different store levels introduced last year.

Thanks!
