Hello eBay,   How often does the eBay bots verify my account is maintaining the correct Matrics to participate in the eBay Guaranteed Delivery program?

Tomorrow marks two weeks since some pretty significant issues in the community started after an update.  And in those two weeks, while lots of questions have been asked, we have gotten no updates at all that I've seen.

Can we get an update on what is going on please?

Hi @mam98031, I know that brian@ebay has been investigating issues and working with our third-party platform provider, Khoros, for fixes. He's provided updates as they have become available to our mentors, as most of our reports have come from this group. I can confirm that we'll work to resolve any outstanding technical problems as soon as possible!

Unless the bell is really messing up.  There hasn't been any updates on the Mentors board.  I've asked several times.  I will however go over there and look to see if I missed something.

Hi @mam98031, if there is no update on that specific technical issue so far, then we wouldn't have anything to provide. Brian has been responding to a variety of issues with updates as they are given to us, but some issues are still being investigated with no news to provide at the moment.

Which is what I am doing, but it adds a step, which adds time and lends itself to my forgetting to update the store category.

@gwzcomps - I know it's inconvenient, but after all the recent reports about hacked accounts and how much trouble they are having getting everything sorted out, personally I'd rather the inconvenience of logging in more often than dealing with getting charged selling fees and store subscriptions for someone fraudulently selling stuff on my account. 😲

If you use a good mix of uppercase, lowercase, and special characters (#@%?!>) and a password that is unique to ebay then it is VERY unlikely you will have to deal with hacked account issues. Ebay is a very secure site with a lot of money invested in security, but if you use the same password everywhere then your password is only as secure as the most insecure site you've used it on.

Hi,

I've just signed up for the upcoming managed payments system.

I noticed that I was only given the option to list one bank account.

Currently with PayPal, I can have my funds transferred to 2 separate accounts at different institutions.

Being limited to one account, is going to create a hardship for me as I will have to physically go to the banks to move money.

Did eBay consider this when they designed the new payment system? Are there other options that I'm missing?

Thank you!

Sugarcity Sales

Hi @sugarcitysales - disclaimer here that I'm not a payments teammate so I don't have all available details, but my understanding is that currently you are, in fact, limited to a single payout account. I don't know if there are plans to expand that in the future, but I would recommend contacting a payments teammate directly to see if you can get the inside scoop!

re Managed Payments - I read everything I could find, but still worry:
a. my bank charges a fee if I have more than 10 transactions/month. If I have to print labels from my bank, and have deposits made once a week, I will way exceed that. Is there any possibility that, while funds are available midweek, labels could be printed using those funds?
b. How will refunds work if the money is not available online?

a) Labels can print from your pending funds.

b)  refunds will be made from pending funds if available.  If not available it will go negative ($$.$$), and then the amount will be recovered from new sales.  If sales do not occur to cover the ($$) it  will be added to your monthly invoiced when due  (per as post from eBay "Charles" on another thread.

Super couth! That's great news!

Recently I have noticed a weird thing on the community boards. It is happening on this board.

The last message I looked at had Message 32 of 24.   I've seen it on other threads.

What does it mean?

Since ebay introduced the new shipping labels (with the long barcode in the upper right corner replacing the square stamp sized one) IOS device users lost the ability to print labels from their mobile devices. The barcode and letter for shipping method print blacked out.

This has been reported many, many times to @mobile_app_help and the issue seems to be very low priority. Most posts are answered with a 1 liner question before being abandoned.

Most recently the topic came up here

https://community.ebay.com/t5/Mobile-App-iOS/Problem-printing-Ebay-shipping-labels-from-iPad/m-p/309...

Pictures were posted by someone in that thread. I have also been asked to post pictures in the past too. With hurricane season starting this problem is an urgent one. In the past we have been able to go without power for a week and still manage to serve the ebay community uninterrupted thanks to the ability to print labels on a mobile device. With @mobile_app_help ignoring the issue we lost that ability. What is the ETA on this fix and can you guys put it in front of someone who recognizes the urgency of the need for mobile device users to be able to print labels from iphone and ipad?

@coinslabz26 I'm not familiar with this issue. I'll hunt down some answers and get back to you in this thread 🙂

Everyone has been holding their breath waiting to see what is going on with the coin and bullion categories regarding managed payments. Is ebay actively working to support those categories in managed payments or will they continue to use paypal indefinitely? Is there any definitive answer on whether ebay will keep these categories or will they at some point stop allowing us to sell coins and bullion and other products not allowed in managed payments?

Hi @coinslabz26, we actually addressed this back in February in our Seller Town Hall. I posted about this recently in another thread, quoted below:

"I just wanted to stop by and share the eBay Townhall from February 25th - seller's concerns with listing certain items like coins are addressed by our executives during the discussion, around the 9 minute and 44 second mark of the recording. You can find the video here:

https://community.ebay.com/t5/Seller-Town-Halls/Seller-Town-Hall-February-2020/ba-p/30672085

A member of our Community also took the time to type up a transcript of the video, which you can review here:

I believe that as well, but the issue has never been addressed and wondered how that will work going forward

@coinslabz26  Thanks, but I was referring to the massive amount of compromised accounts that have been used to commit triangle fraud against the company I work for in the last 3 months (50+ that I have found and reported so far) and the increasing reports on the community and across  social media of accounts being compromised and used for fraudulent activity (both buying and selling).

Extra security measures would seem to be warranted and if that means having to log in more often (including 2 factor authentication) it's probably worth it to avoid the troubles others have been reporting with trying to re-secure their accounts.

Is there a way that I am not seeing to add a store category while in the middle of a listing and have it populate so that it can be selected without having to go back and edit the listing - wither through a saved draft or editing a live listing?

If not - is it something that can be looked into for future enhancements?

@glgenterprise there isn't an option to create a store category within the listing flow. It's something I can suggest

----

What I do is:
- save the listing to drafts
- go add the store category
- reload the store page (to "solidify" the new category)
- then go back and finish the listing
So far, that has worked for me

That's a great suggestion @vrykalak!!!
