I saw another entry in my last invoice from eBay saying I paid $1 for a listing upgrade, which turned out to be a larger photo.
Several months ago, I noticed a fee of $7 for the same upgrade to several listings, that had persisted for three months before I saw it..
I NEVER turn that on, and I ALWAYS check before I list or relist an item that the fee is $0.00.
So eBay is setting it for me, and then charging me for it. Grrr.

Hi @vrykalak, as with all reports for issues related to a listing or fee, we need an item number to review this. We do not apply optional listing upgrades ourselves, but we can review if you provide an item number to discuss.

Thank you, @vrykalak. I'll take a look and see what might be going on.

Hi @vrykalak, since this item was initially listed in May, it has always had Gallery Plus enabled. Fees can be reviewed for this item in your past invoices. While this feature is free in some categories, it is not free in the category you are listing this item in. If you are manually ending and relisting your items, the listing will pull from the original data in the very first listing - even if you adjust the listing before you publish to remove Gallery Plus, the next time you go to relist the item, this feature will be turned back on. You can fix this moving forward by creating a new listing, or by simply allowing your item to renew automatically through the Good 'Til Cancelled process.

I wanted to add that even if you are not turning this feature on yourself, if you are using Sell Similar from another listing that had this feature turned on, then the feature will be added due to the nature of how Sell Similar works.

You can read more about Gallery Plus here.

When you change an item from Fixed Price to Auction, the Fixed Price becomes the Buy it Now price, which means Best Offer is illegal. Could the system please TURN OFF Best Offer in this situation?
Also, the default Auction length is 7 days. I want it to be 10 days. Is there any way I can make that happen automatically?

Hi @vrykalak, can you give an item number example for this? We'll be happy to review something specific if you can provide it. As for changing the default option in the listing form, it looks like when I went to create an auction in your account the duration is defaulted to 10 days. Can you tell me where you are seeing something different?

---
Almost all of the 100 Auctions that are currently active in my account--except the ones that are specifically for Valentines Day--exhibited this problem.
When I changed them from Fixed Price to Auction, I had to change the duration from 7 to 10 days, and turn off "Best Offer" manually.

Hi @vrykalak, please provide an item number so we can review further.

The point is: I have to make those changes manually EVERY time I change a listing from Fixed Price to Auction.
The system won't let me change the duration after it has already posted as 7 days, either because I didn't change it or, (much more likely) I did change it but it changed back...which I have seen happen.
The system yells at me if I forget to turn off "Best offer" or, (much more likely) I did change it but it changed back...which I have also seen happen.

Hi @vrykalak, thank you for providing some examples! I will start with the default duration; 7 day auctions are the most popular duration, so this is the option that will appear by default. While a new listing for an auction defaulted to a 10 day duration in your account, this is likely due to your past selections and wouldn't be the same process as when you change a fixed price listing to an auction. There is no setting you could change that would adjust this default, but I will definitely pass along the feedback to our listing team.

As for the price in the fixed price format becoming the Buy It Now price on the auction and the Best Offer option remaining selected, this should be fine through the Advanced Listing tool you are using on the desktop site. I tested this out and saw that there was an error message being displayed, so will pass this on for review. You can review our related Help Page to see confirmation that this should be allowed for reference.

Hi @vrykalak, I wanted to add that tyler@ebay addressed this question for you in our Weekly Chat in November, which you can review here.
