Hi, Little lengthy here, but had to be to cover the whole issue so you understand.

I have had an issue since Jan 18th where I have not been receiving my receipts for ebay labels purchased for almost all Media Mail labels (and understand, it’s Media Mail purchases only this happens, I get the receipts like a should for all other method purchases i.e. Priority / First Class, no issue, I get the receipts on my normal email – so it’s not an issue with my email address or anything like that – it’s ebay!) I’ve purchased through ebay shipping since Jan 18th, to date, 17 label purchases I have not gotten receipts for. As well after I print a label for any shipping method, the bell icon at top right of page keeps saying I have an order to ship – will remain for around 40 min or so til goes away – but I already purchased and printed label for it through ebay shipping.

I have called Ebay CS 5x about this issue now, every time I call they say “you currently have a ticket for tech support open” – but “Tech Support” has done nothing to fix the issue, nor have I gotten receipts for those label purchases like I am suppose to.

The problems with this is as follows:
1. I pay for shipping – “Free” Shipping – this is a enormous business expense which I deduct from my gross earnings – I NEED THE RECIPETS – if I’m ever audited they want receipts – not my word or ebays word etc…

2. NO WHERE on Ebay can you download or print a receipt JUST for the shipping labels you purchased. 4th time I called they connected to me a rep in Managed Payments who showed me where Ebay now has a section just for the shipping labels purchased – USELESS – you cannot download a file for them, there is no printer friendly version to print them. You cannot click on each purchase transaction to open to a RECIEPT to print or download or save as PDF.

 

3. MONTHLY INVOICE includes all fees etc BUT NO TOTAL for SHIPPING LABELS you purchased – nothing for shipping labels at all.

 

4. Under “Orders” tab in Seller Hub, you can go to each transaction and from the drop down list select “View Payment Details” – this opens to another page with the details on total buyer paid, tax that was charged to buyer and up top will state how much was paid for shipping – though THIS IS NOT a receipt.

5. Under “Orders” tab in Seller Hub, Right Side Navigation Select > “Shipping Labels” > On the Left Side of each entry for each label there is a drop down list “More Actions” which supplies you 3 options “Void/Print Another Label/Print Packing Slip” – ALL of these are USELESS.


Under the column for “Shipment Details” it will say the carrier method used for that purchase, if you click it is the only place that even comes close to resembling a RECIEPT – BUT – it opens in a hover window, that you cannot print without printing the entire webpage, and again – cannot download a report of the purchase(s) etc.

 

6. When you go to purchase/print a label on the right side you can change options to print a receipt at same time print label -> USELESS -> Because I am not wasting a shipping label to print a receipt every time I print a label – stuff costs money – ebay wants to reimburse me for the cost of every label I need to waste on printing a receipt when I print a label then we can talk. Aside, the way it always has been is a receipt is emailed to you at your normal email address, I take those emails and save them as PDF’s, which I then put all in a folder on a separate hard drive, and I give all those PDF’s to accountant who tallys the costs all up so why do I want to print and waste shipping labels/printer ink for this?

7. ANY downloadable report on ebay DOES NOT include the cost of shipping labels purchased if you offer FREE SHIPPING – ONLY if the BUYER was charged shipping is that expense listed on any download report – I checked all the shipping charges are listed as $0.00 – because – I offer free shipping.

 

Aside from all this, There is NO REASON Tech Support has not fixed this issue yet, like said 5x I have called about this in 2-3 weeks – keep telling me a ticket is open but they done NOTHING to fix it, not even sure anyone in tech support has even looked at it, if they did, the ticket wouldn’t still be open. This is a major screw up on ebays part, it needs to be fixed, pronto – no excuse for not giving sellers what they need to report and track their sales and expenses – Shipping is an expense – “Free” shipping isn’t Free – we pay for it – since we pay for it we need RECIEPTS.

Thanks. Sorry for length, but wanted to cover every aspect and curve any suggestion you may pull out for it, I’ve already been through it all and with every rep I’ve talked to – the only solution is to send me the receipts or make the shipping labels purchases available via download CVS report and print friendly versions so can be saved as PDF files.

When is eBay going to step up to the plate and have the same level of expectations for themselves as they have for the sellers?  Is mediocrity just the ongoing standard for eBay now?  I grow weary of the lack of customer support, or borderline useless customer support.  Between the lack of quality CS and all the site issues I am amazed the site even functions half the time.

@treasureeverywhere  Hi Shirley!  This has actually been replaced with the Profile Page

 

The Profile Page (formerly About Me) is a great place for you to share your hobbies and interests, as well as provide information about what you sell.

 

You can upload a photo, cover image, as well as add a brief description. Additionally, it features the following: 

  • Feedback overview
  • Items for sale

Let me first start by apologizing as I know I've asked this before but have forgotten the answer as it hasn't come up for quite a while.

 

I purchased two items from a seller.  Two different transactions, same seller.  They shipped me one of the items I purchased and put the tracking number on both transactions.  The Seller is extremely slow to respond to my emails.  I can't open an INR because both items show delivered.

 

What are my alternatives to resolve this if the seller isn't going to work with me?  And INAD with a comment that only half the order was received?

@gwzcomps - Sorry to hear that you're having issues with CS! If you have a specific example I'd be happy to have it reviewed if you'll provide the Service Request number.

This morning was one of the most frustrating I have had in 22 years of selling on eBay.

 

I printed my packing slips, as usual.  I printed my mailing labels via bulk labels, as usual.

I then went to print my "invoice for your records".

Instead I was presented with a totally new choice to print, which brought me to two totally new documents.  Neither one of which was what I was looking for.  You have 'trashed' an extremely useful document.

 

And to add insult to injury, I am now supposed to use the "order receipt" with customization.  1) It prints in smaller print than the report it replaces.   2) I went to customize the document, which should have given me all of the information I needed.  check my boxes, clicked on done, 'saved changes' came up.  Except it didn't save the changes.  The document never changed.  It remained in it's totally useless state!

 

I then had to reprint my shipping labels (so I could have a document with the tracking number) and then had to find someplace that showed the shipping  amount for the order.   (payments/transactions does not show details for the shipping labels transaction ).  This added 30 minutes to my morning routine.  Info I used to get in less than a minute.

 

When was this major change announced?  If this is beta, how do I get back to the document that provided me with all the information I need (at my fingertips) to properly take care of customer inquiries?

 

As a customer support / quality assurance professional (including management) it appalls me that something has been implemented without thorough testing.  Who specifically do I report this to?

I probably won't be too popular with fellow comic-book sellers with this suggestion but I'd love it if eBay would make it so that media mail labels can not be printed on ebay.  Ebay has blocked media mail labels from other categories.

 

Per the USPS comic books do not qualify for media mail.

 

Trying to compete against other sellers that break this rule is difficult sometimes.  

 

At least make the seller work for it and have to buy their label offsite if they wish to violate the postal code.

The recent news about Robinhood being sued for a lack of customer support access was an interesting read. 

 

Several of the complaints rang true for eBay:

Times when the request a callback is turned off.

Times when email responses are vague, do not answer the question, or provide incorrect information.

 

What precisely is eBay planning to do to correct their Customer Service to improve the experience for buyers and sellers alike?

The "me" icon that went to older "About Me" pages can still be seen on the accounts of older members (as you would see on my account ) who once had an "About Me" page . The "About Me" pages were retired several years ago, and eBay now links that old icon to the newer Profile page. So, in a sense it is retired in that new members do not have that icon, and tyler@ebay  I'm not sure why it still appears on older accounts because it is redundant and is just another widget to support, although I do like having it.

Hi @postcardcountry - I've not been made aware of any announced change to the bulk shipping label flow. It's possible this may be a test. If you see a 'comments' or 'feedback' link on that page please ensure you click and provide your thoughts.

I mean many of the options say they are closed despite being open hours.  When I do request a call back for MP the window is ridiculous.  The estimate vs when I get the call are well beyond the time frame given.  I mean hell even after the 102 minute window ends up being 4+ hours I get the call outside of what is supposed to be your "operating hours".  Then the fact that your CS teams regularly give incorrect advice at the expense of the users.  I could keep going...
