Hi everyone and happy holidays!
With brittanie@ebay and brian@ebay out of the office it's just me here this week. Normally we would cancel the chat but I figured since I haven't had much time to spend on the other chit-chat thread it would be nice to spend some time here.
I'd love to hear some of your traditions this time of year, any recipes or fun plans you have. I also am looking for input on what I should make for dessert to serve at Christmas Eve dinner: Chocolate pound cake, chocolate pie, or banana bread bundt cake.
Just to be very clear, this is an 'off topic' chat this week and I won't be addressing eBay-specific questions.
Regular eBay-chat will resume next week!

Merry Christmas. I just saw the note where you stated this is a holiday chat that is off topic. But I have to report a glitch that shouldn't go ignored because there is no telling how many TRS sellers are effected and there is no other avenue to report it since the proper team is not reachable by phone.
There is a glitch where some TRS sellers are no longer eligible for protections from false SNAD returns. I have not reported a buyer who “Claimed the item was not as described when that wasn’t true” since I think March. On December 5th I reported 2 buyers because their comments clearly showed the returns were buyers remorse and not the reason specified. Including one buyer who actually emailed me when the return was complete “Thank you for the refund. While the coin was just fine for collection, it did not visually display well next to a companion item in the same gift/display box.” Obviously this is buyers remorse…..But apparently we are not longer receiving protection because of a glitch.
After opening a report I got my “monthly” seller protections summery that I haven’t received for months. The graphic (by ebay’s error) seems to imply I don’t qualify for protection since I don’t offer 30 day returns as indicated by the dark blue circle. However, I have offered 30 day free returns and have been a TRS since ebay changed TRS requirements to 30 days. That graphic was false and because of the glitch my return reports got no consideration at all.
I called customer support but they didn’t seem familiar with the buyer reporting function and their email to the correct team yielded no results.
What do I do and how do I report this glitch where I am not eligible for TRS benefits even though I am TRS?
Also the reports were done December 5th and I have since been evaluated. The attached graphic is the one received in the message from ebay erroneously telling me I need to offer 30 day returns for benefits.
And now there is a problem with the forum giving me a flooding error.......

Yes, this is my dog Chloe. She is a boxer/golden retriever mix and is about 10 yrs old. She was the biggest PITA when I first rescued her, but now she the sweetest dog ever.

Tyler, I took a quick glance at the chocolate pound cake recipe, and it reinforced my vote. I would use real coffee instead of instant coffee, as suggested in the notes. No point in buying something just for one recipe, and then never use it again.
I'm celebrating alone this year. Last year I promised myself I would be with my family at Christmas no matter what. Well, I guess that "no matter" happened because here I am.
Surprisingly, I don't think it's going to be as bad being on my own this time, because I didn't have a choice about it.
I have a nice little beef roast, which I think I will make tomorrow. And maybe a pumpkin pie. For thanksgiving, I did a turkey breast in the slow cooker with gravy, and little red skinned potatoes and pumpkin pie, then I got to have hot turkey sandwiches with gravy for a few days. And Turkey Pad Thai, which is now a new favorite.
Okay - I think you're right on the pound cake front, there's something so good about a nice dense cake.
Having an isolated holiday can be strangely refreshing, hoping that you get some good quality time.
A roast sounds great! I'm making a beef roast as well, with potatoes and rolls. 🙂
Turkey pad thai sounds incredible - did you follow a recipe or come up with it yourself?

How's the weather? It's gotten cold out here, but not much snow, which I'm bummed about because I really do like a white Christmas
We had snow here for a few days last week. Almost enough to hid the grass but not quite. I was hoping for another inch or two of snow so I could go X-country skiing, but it melted instead.
On the good side, it looks like the USPS is catching up with packages. I had 3 packages delivered today, in 2 batches. The first one was delivered this morning. It had actually reached the local sorting station about a week ago, but it didn't get scanned for a few days, and then it turned up in Salt Lake City. It got back from Utah pretty quickly, and another one came today from Canada, that one took less than 2 weeks altogether. Not bad.

weather is good: reasonable warm with a cutting wind. Should be a bit colder tomorrow but it is December..
Got to love the sun shine: currently 53 degrees.

That is a pretty creative 2020 ornament. Very much sums it up.

I vote for the Chocolate pound cake!
Keeping things really simple here this year.
Just having my mother in law over for tamales on Christmas Eve. So it will be just the three us.
No I didn't make the tamales.. too much work! I miss them though so this will be a bit of nostalgia for me. We used to have them every Christmas eve growing up in southern California. We would trade a family friend cookies for tamales. We always felt like we got the better end of the bargain.
We are missing the big family get together this year, like everyone. Keith though is not missing the prime rib and shrimp cocktail that is his families Christmas dinner tradition. Strange man, hates both of them.

She's precious @mcdougle4248 - hope she doesn't end up too spoiled with presents, although how could you say no to that face!

Are you allowed to clear a path for the ball straight to the hole?
Anyway, Merry Christmas @golfingaddict. We met at eBay HQ in August 2014, IIRC. Glad you're still doing well.
