If you could provide some details of what sort of search you are doing or provide a link to your search results page, someone may be able to offer some practical suggestions.
If you are searching within a particular category, and no results are found in that category, eBay may rerun the search in "All categories" to provide some results, for instance. You can usually change the category manually and search again if you are trying to save a particular search.
If you have a saved search, and eBay has eliminated that particular category, your saved search may no longer work, and might default to some other category or else "All categories" instead. In that case, you may need to recreate your search in a different form.
