Re: uploading images

It is impossible to upload an image when I am creating a promotion/markdown sale.  The same message comes up each time something about 500 pixels.  I have tried using different browsers and even tried using a photo that has already been used in another listing, but I cannot upload any images.

Re: uploading images

Yes, getting same problem since 12/25/2017. Have tried all things teachandlearnstore has tried to no avail.  Wont take any image of JPEG or PNG regardless of size or pixels.  Definitely an eBay tech problem that needs to be fixed.  I can find no work around for this problem.  The system "randomly" chooses 3 images that are in the sales event for you (which you can't change) and wont let you add a fourth of the one you really want to use for the sale event banner.  When you first select the image you want it actually shows the image in the fourth box, thinks about it for a minute, and then rejects it with this error.  See screen shot below. *****Need a fix*******

Re: uploading images

Uploading image problem was solved for me by completely logging out of eBay and then logging back in.  eBay help told me that the "soft login" when it asks you just for your password but not your user id expires after a time and some actions like uploading images are not allowed.  Be nice to get a better error message but at least it is working after signing back in with full user name and password. Hope this works for others.

Re: uploading images

yes, i've always had this problem. i've gone into photoshop and re-sized up and down, so size is not the issue- it's a site error. today i used an image fine, on another site i manage. i tried the same image on my personal account sale, no luck, red error.

Re: uploading images

This issues has been going on for some time. I called eBay to let them know about the same issue that just started with my uploads 3 days ago. They had no solution to offer.

In the meantime, I switch from Google Chrome to the Mozilla Firefox browser today and it solved the problem, no photo changing issues. Suggest using that browser until further notice. I was able to go back to previous listings and reload the photos with no errors.

Re: uploading images

I had always found this 4th image (custom) option to be working for all "Promotions / Special Offers / Sale Event Banner / Select Sale Event Image / Preview Sale Event" discounts that I wanted to offer...

That is... until last week. The 4th image is now just a white box... and is not functional. I called Customer Support only to be told it was because my images were too small. In reality, they weren't even aware that a "Special Offer" page existed... and had ZERO experience with it... yet they tried to speculate as to the problem. I finally gave up...

Bottom line... the three options that eBay drops into the "Select sale event image" boxes... are compressed so small as to be effectively worthless in directing social media traffic to that page. The view for any potential customer... is that the sale is not even worth looking at... with an image that small!! And now that they don't offer a 4th option (seller's choice from their own photo upload)... the entire effort seems doomed to the garbage bin of past eBay failures. So much for effective promotions... Especially when customer service reps don't know how to help... and the technical team seems content with the status quo. All we need is INFORMATION on what's wrong... if or when it will be fixed... and then we can go about our day. Instead... we get nothing but speculation and guesses... and certainly no useful solutions.
