This is when I'm using my phone (Android).
On my desktop, I can log in using my usual ID and password. Sometimes I am already logged on but I'm asked to re-enter my password. In particular this is when I am checking the items I'm selling.
On my phone, it used to work the same way, but now, when I try to place a bid or go to My eBay, a screen pops up asking for fingerprint ID. I've never signed up to provide a fingerprint. Alternatives offered are logging in with Google or Facebook. OF course, they say they will get access to my contacts list and so forth. I don't want to do it that way.
Is this a new system? On the desktop computer, I am only asked to provide my password again. I'd like to do that on my phone, too. That's how it was before.
Thanks,
Ylla

A glitch or an ebay test of "Touch ID" ?
Do you have Touch ID on your phone? If so, could it be communicating with ebay or ebay is recognizing the app?

I have the fingerprint enabled on my phone but whenever I try to use it on the ebay app it doesn't work and reverts back to the regular sign in screen.
