I have tried for several days to add an item for auction. This is the first item I am trying to sell. What might be the cause of this?

Have you completed all the steps to register as a seller?   Since you are in the UK, might be better to ask there, as some things are different in US......

I've been having this error too, even though i should be perfectly set to sell. If it were a problem with the person not meeting the requirements to put at item up, it would have told them the issue instead of a vague error message; this is a bug, and a very handicapping one, as i've been experiencing it for weeks.
