"Return policy" error when trying to create/revise listing. Auto-relist option is gone.

Hello dear eBay community,

Since Sunday I have examined a problem with creating and revising my listings. It seems that there are numerous changes in the listing creation page. I have contacted the eBay support numerous times on Sunday, they evaluated the problem and gave it a 1-3 working days fixing time, but problem still exists today and it affects my uploading schedule very badly.

So here is the problem. When I try to list an ad the menus for the Return policy and Postage preferences seem to be changed and look like this:

Policy1.PNG

So whenever I choose a Return Policy which does not allow Return both domestically and internationally and try to create/revise the listing, the following error appears: (Just to clarify, I have never had return allowed on my listings)

aacapture2.PNG

And this is how the Return Policy windows appears when I click on the pencil (completely change from before):

Policy2.png

And this error appears everytime no matter how many times I try to rechoose the policy to a one that does not allow returns. Other solutions I tried were: change of browser, clearing cache/cookies/history, logging out and in again. Nothing helped, problem still exists.

The only time the error does not actually appears is when I put a return option, for an example I choose that people can return the item in 14 days or whatever days, then the error does not appear and the listing uploads successfully. But I do not want to do this as I do NOT accept returns.

Here is also screenshots of how the Postage preferences and Return Policy sections appear to a friend of mine (just as before they appeared to me) and he seems not to have a problem:

NormalPolicy2.PNGNormalPolicy1.png

So that is what I am experiencing the last 4-5 days and I cannot upload my listings normally.

And a second issue I examined is that the Auto-relist checkmark option is gone and actually I had it check marked on all my Auction listings before but now when it's gone the listings do not Auto-relist and I have to relist them manually. Just to clarify, this problem also seems to be appearing only on my account, on the account of my friend the Auto-relist option is still there.

Please help me to fix these problems as they are affecting my uploading schedule in a negative way.

Thank you!

Greetings, morefootballshirts

"Return policy" error when trying to create/revise listing. Auto-relist option is gone.

Hey @sdj.shirts. On this newer version of the listing form, some settings are default to hidden, but there's usually an icon you can click to see more options and toggle them back in to view. On that last screenshot you posted, see the options message in the upper right corner? Here on the .com site you'd want to look for that under the payments section to access the auto-relist setting.

As for the return policies, I can see that you opted in to business policies, perhaps unintentionally. This page has more info plus a link to your biz policies settings where you can manage or opt out of policies.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/selling/business-policies/business-policies?id=4212

When you first opt in the policies are a mess and need to be cleaned up, but once you set them up how you want I find them to be a big time saver.

These answers are somewhat general because you're on the .com discussion boards but using the .co.uk site and I don't want to post too much detail in case the functions differ between sites.

"Return policy" error when trying to create/revise listing. Auto-relist option is gone.

Hello, dear @wastingtime101

Thanks a lot for your help! You were actually very helpful with this problem. I don't know how I have managed to opt in business policies when I have never been to that page, but it could have happened somehow. I opted out now, but problem seems to stay sadly....

Now whenever I try to uncheck the Return allowed toggle button on the existing ads it toggles off but when I am done revising the item the change is not written and is still shown that I accept returns.

When I try uploading an ad that does not allow returns this error shows up now (after I have opted out of business policies):

As for the "See all options" button, I know that Auto-relist option should be there and it was there last week. But now it is missing, both on ".com" and ".co.uk" domains for me:

I am using "co.uk" domain to upload always. I don't know what is causing all of this.

I just tried uploading a listing on the ".com" domain without any return policy allowed and it actually uploaded successfully. But on the ".co.uk" domain the problem still exists and I do not want to change for the .com domain. As for the Auto-relist option as I said, it's sadly not there on the ".com" domain as well.

Since you're not having problems on the .com site I suggest posting the return policy issue on community.ebay.co.uk because it's site-specific and you'll get better responses over there @sdj.shirts.

First check to make sure your listing is auction format - that might affect the options you see.

Second - are you referring to a general auto-relist or a different setting where it will auto-relist up to 8 times? If it's the latter, that's a feature for new/casual sellers and when ones sales volume increases, they are no longer eligible for the 8x relist w/o fees.
