within the last few days, I am constantly prompted to verify myself with the stupid captcha picture thing. I see this "test" several times a day whenever I log in or answer a message, create a listing or purchase something. It's getting old fast.
Any ideas of this new development? I am using an old Dell with XP, so I'm obsolete already but this constant verification process is a new, extra aggravating waste of time.

I will not be turning off content blockers to use eBay.

Me too. **bleep**? Feels like phishing and I'm steering clear of eBay for my purchases. Going to Amazon.

eBay has also failed to take into consideration those of us with major tremors. It is VERY difficult to slide the puzzle piece into place when your hand/arm is constantly shaking.
For users that do not like the slider puzzle verification, there is an option to allow the user to enter numbers that are read aloud. If you are looking at the slider puzzle, there should be three icons at the bottom of the pop-up; the third is the audio alternative.

I cannot speak either, so audio is not helpful.
The numbers are read aloud to you, you just have to enter them as they are being read by using your keyboard, keypad or tapping on the screen.
For some reason, some browsers seem to require more verification than others; on my phone Firefox always requires verification, but Chrome does not.

I stopped patronizing businesses that make it an ordeal for the "privilege" of being able to give them my money. After getting locked out because I couldn't do a puzzle on my tiny cell phone screen I vowed that I would not stay silent going forward. After Amazon required me to input a texted code six times in one day when all I was doing was listening to my prime music membership my complaints must have been heard. After threatening to cancel the memberships of all my friends and family.....( a large number of people who spend an obscenely large amount of money) they "found a way" to make sure I was treated like a valued customer rather than a criminal and I haven't received a verification request in over a year as long as I use one of my trusted devices.

All is I know, as that all of a sudden I can't check an e-mail from a seller. This stupid puzzle, that doesn't work pops up and blocks me from even logging into my account. Guess I'll start shopping Amazon again.

What's that to do with annoying verification except that I see you want to hear yourself.

I have been having the same porblem with regularity. When I verify I am not a robot-it keeps asking me the same question over and over again, and I have to go thru the same process with no results. Ebay provided no solution except to tell me to try a different browser. I am using Windows 10 and Google Chrome. When I use my ipad I have no problems.

If using a different browser allows you to sign in successfully, typically that would indicate there is something about your original browser setup that is preventing eBay from getting through the verification process. If trying alternative sign-in links does not help, possibly something in your browser is blocking scripts or blocking cookies, or else your current eBay cookie is corrupt or stuck.
Are you able to sign in successfully using an incognito mode browser window in Chrome? That might indicate a problem with cookies.
If you have previously signed in to that account using the Google or Facebook links on the sign-in page, that might be worth trying; just take care not to create a new account accidentally.

There is a simple way around this.
Stop using ebay!
I would use ebay more often but it takes too long to login
verify captcha - user name - password- verify again captcha - answer secret question - user name again - password - code sent to email- enter code - code sent to mobile phone - enter code - access at last.
This is every time log in.
So I just go elsewhere for most of my purchases

I notice you are registered in the UK, but you are currently signed in to the US site and posting on the US discussion boards.
If you are having issues signing in to ebay.co.uk, see here for some suggestions:
