newly-created Ebay searches won't open results in same tab

For 20+ years on Ebay, when I created a new search and then clicked on a resulting item, it always opened in the same tab, in both Firefox and Chrome. But without making any changes to Settings, new Ebay searches insist on opening in a new tab in both browsers, which I find cumbersome. Does anyone have a suggestion for correcting this? I have been hesitant about going into the registry to make changes, since I didn't know what else might be affected. Thanks for your help.

From your search results page, click on the menu in the upper right that allows you to switch between List or Gallery view and you should see a "Customize" option. Use that to get here:

From there you can select whether search results open in a new tab or the same browser tab. You may have to change that setting again if you close your browser or sign out of eBay, as it appears to default back to opening links in a new tab -- or at least it did last time I checked.

Thank you for the reply. I did exactly what you recommended, and things got even curiouser. The entire menu that you show in your reply appears EXCEPT for the "Open item page in" line, which is completely missing -- i.e., there is no such option presented. How is that possible? Thanks.

Any difference if you try another browser?

When I replied the last time, I was in Firefox. I just switched to Chrome, and the same thing happened -- no such option appears. By the way, I am in Windows 10 OS. Thanks.
