How long ago was the purchase? Make sure you are checking the correct date range of your Purchase History.
Check the various sections of your Purchase History -- particularly "Processing" "Returns & Canceled" or "Hidden".
Try searching your Purchase History by title keyword. That can sometimes find transactions that do not appear in the default yearly search list.
Is the item listing still findable? If eBay removed the listing for a policy violation, it may not be.
