internet explorer 11 doesn't work with ebay

@ljjswiss   I have some lost functionality with IE but its NOT 11 ... I use Windows 8.1 and Firefox for most of my work on eBay ... I do use IE from time to time but clear History-Cookies-Temp Internet file regularly.

Not sure if this will help but it's the URL I have on BOTH IE & Firefox for the Classic My eBay Selling page ... I use it from the Favorites list (IE) or Bookmarks (Firefox) to avoid going to Seller Hub (onlly to have to find this page anyway).  If this helps then great, if not, sorry to waste your time.

There are still many IE and Firefox users (the Firefox browser is also experiencing problems). 

If you look at many concerns posted from members recently (in the past couple of weeks), you'll see many, many reports of Homepage Loading Errors, but you'll also see many, many reports of new Technical Issues, impacting many eBay processes, tools, functionality and usability.  These are also seen on Chrome browsers, Apple PC's, and Android & Apple Mobile Platforms.  This is due to the February system updates, that have resulted in an unstable platform.

Being told to clear cache, when that's not the problem, is just frustrating customers more.  If the site becomes unusable, due to too many Technical Issues, then the next thing customers will clear is eBay (i.e. by not using the site anymore).

I'm trying to escalate the concerns to get a proper resolution.  Currently Alan, the Community Boards Manager, is addressing the Homepage Loading Error issue.  I just copied him on another issue and hope that gets some attention also.

Thank you. I hope the technical problems are solved soon because it is very frustrating for the user. I called the help line and was told that it was probably my browser, which is not the case because it works on all the other sites. I told her that and she said to use Chrome; I don't like Chrome for ebay; the format is different and why should I change if I am happy with what I have.  It's hard to believe that the tech people cannot find this problem. It's been weeks.

Going to the sitemap allowed me to then select the my eBay page (via the top line next to the Sell option - like normal) and all was fine.

To all, The eBay main page has an issue (really?). You have two choices, use another browser, or bookmark a page that is 'past' the main (home) page. Here is a link you can use for a bookmark...https://www.ebay.com/myb/Summary

We  have been sellers since 1998. I am really tired of ebay blaming the users when they have an issue-I.e. "just change your browser". NO I don't want to do that and I suspect there are many people, both sellers and BUYERS who are about to just give up and go elsewhere to shop, if they haven't already.   My computer works fine for EVERYTHING else I want to do, and I don't want to keep experiencing having to go "through a backdoor" to get in. What about the buyers? May be ebay should put a disclaimer on the sign in saying "Don't bother if you have Internet Explorer, but oh I guess you could try to figure out a back way or change your whole computer just to browse ebay." When will this issue be fixed?  I don't want to relist or list anything new until it is.

I understand your frustration. I am not eBay. I can only try to help you with eBay access. Please direct your frustration to them. Note. MicroSoft recommends using Edge, instead of IE 11.

I'm a frequent Buyer on eBay and have stopped buying (with the exception of a couple items from 2 really great Sellers).  I was going to set-up a Sellers Account and will not, due to this issue and now the GTC issue.  I'm a Techie and know how to switch to Chrome or Edge, but I don't want to.  I have no issues at any other e-merchant site or any website, other than eBay.  

eBay is losing thousands of Existing Customers and thousands of Potential New Customers due to this.  When you do the math it's a lot of lost business; 

1. Number of Customers Affected,  Number of Items Not Purchased,  Number of Days Can't Sign-in 
2. Number of Customers Affected,  Number of Items Not Listed,  Number of Days Can't Sign-in

Now I'm spending my time at Community Boards, when I and others should be Buying and Selling.  It's a 10 step process to sign-in through the back door, just to get to here .....

I have exactly the same problem, the eBay home page (.uk) hangs IE11.  EVERY TIME!  But I can get into eBay from e.g. clicking on a item I had put in Favourites.  This has been going on for several weeks now..  eBay needs to wake up.

I do not want to stop using IE11 because I have a vast Favourites folder, and also the Bookmarks thing in Chrome is rubbish - totally unusable for more than a few dozen folders.  So please eBay, do the right things and make your home page wpork with IE11.

I also use Windows 8.1 and Internet Explorer 11 and I have not been able to log into the main EBay page on IE 11 - it simply crashes my whole IE.  I did clear out the cookies and temporary files and that did help.  EBay main page loads fine on Google Chrome, which is what I used yesterday to upload photos and list some items for sale on my seller account.  Waiting on a call back from EBay technical support now....

I have the same problem with IE 11.  I can't even search for items without having one pop-up error message after another.  Just like most people, I've tried other PCs with IE 11 and they all had the same identical problem.  But it works with Chrome.  It's not a Windows or IE problem....it's an eBay problem, and we shouldn't have to switch to a different browser just because they can't maintain the website.

Same for me - only recently had this problem but not helpful when trying to list items.
