customers cannot request an invoice. must either refund them the combined shipping after they have paid or have them send me a message about each item they want to buy, reply with an offer slightly less than the listing price and then when they accept the offer it allows me to send an invoice to combine shipping. this has happened every weekend for the last few weeks. only on the weekend, during the week no problems sending an invoice.

Can your buyers not place items in their cart and request a total after that? Hmmm...

apparently not. one buyer paid full price for all items and then i refunded the difference to make the combined shipping come out right. another buyer that was having problems with the cart items not allowing an invoice request be sent by them and sent me messages for each item which allowed me to reply with an offer. once i replied with an offer and they accepted it i was able to send an invoice to combine shipping. this last solution was suggested by the buyer herself and said that other sellers she was dealing with were having to use this method of generating an invoice. only happens on the weekends, during the week i can invoice items till the cows come home.

The big issue with refunding partial amounts for shipping(especially now with MP) is that eBay no longer refunds the applicable FVF's. Maybe done intentionally. There are several situations where it is impossible for a seller to send a revised invoice or a buyer to request 1(greyed out). PC vs App. Best offer. If you have immediate payment required for best offer. PC to cart only works if you open additional windows and add. There are others. I used to note on my listings in box for Seller Payment Instructions for buyer to contact prior to payment. They removed that feature with MP.(You can ask them to message in the listing notes if you have that setting turned on. Not all sellers do.)

PS. Above noted on dot ca. Mileage may vary. I even had issues with a reverse situation where buyer was in Spain and needed to keep the order value under a certain limit. They had to process 1 purchase at a time and I had to create postage the same way.

i have the same issue and buyers who have an item they purchsed via best offer but havent paid for yet that want to also purchse another item that is in their cart (both from me) are unable to combine both items into one order. Shouldnt the item that they agreed to purchase automatically show up in their cart when they go to check out?
