email check box "send a copy to my personal email address" not working

When I reply to a buyer in eBay messages and check the box under the message to "Send a copy to my personal email address", since Friday 8/16/19, I no longer receive a copy sent to my personal email address. I have called eBay customer support twice about this and they say this function is working but it is not. My personal email address is a regular gmail address that has worked correctly up until now. There are no filters or other put on the personal email address. Even checking "spam" and other boxes at gmail through a Firefox browser shows no copy of the messages. Can someone please advise? I would like to receive these copies for my business archives. Thank you

Hi @csbbct, I've checked your messages and the buyers account you sent messages to and can confirm that they received the messages. A buyer not responding to a message should not be taken as an indication that the messages weren't delivered to them. Many buyers only notice messages when they log into their eBay account, and many buyers do not log into their accounts daily. 

 

@orpheuscomputing if you have item numbers that are associated with the message issue you are reporting then I'll be happy to review those messages.

I have same problem since the last friday and eBay don't even try to fix it. It really messe up my business

Wow.  Brian, it most certainly does  when members are sending DOZENS of messages that are now suddenly going ignored!!  Just because a message (might, occasionally) show up in one's "Sent" folder does not mean that the recipient actually received it, especially at a time like this when there's problems!  "Many buyers only notice messages when they log into their eBay account, and many buyers do not log into their accounts daily. "  <SMH> We're not talking about just "BUYERS" here, we're talking about both buyers AND sellers!  I would be willing to bet most anything that sellers do indeed check Ebay constantly otherwise they would not know they have sales!  What about the countless # of buyers that are bidding on auctions and must have real-time notifications of that in order to keep bidding?  They're logged in (and (unsuccessfully) checking messages!  What about the countless # of buyers that are (STILL) waiting on replies from sellers (so they can potentially BUY) because sellers refuse to put important details in their listings?   They're logged in (and unsuccessfully) checking messages!   What's with you people and the dismissiveness attitude as though "nothing is wrong"??  You still haven't read the other thread I cited?  And there's other threads about this that you people have  LOCKED in attempts to cover-up this serious issue!!  Again, just FTR: Something IS INDEED SERIOUSLY WRONG with the Ebay 'member-to-member' message system!  And: This is SERIOUSLY screwing up Ebay and they OBVIOUSLY DON'T GIVE A **bleep** about this even though it's COSTING THEM MILLION$ EACH HOUR!  Imagine the countless transactions that are NOT happening because people have UNANSWERED questions, the countless items NOT being sold for both auctions and "Buy it Now" because there's ZERO communication about said items!

Thanks for offering to do that, but I simply don't have the time now to go through my "Sent" folder and get all the item #'s from the messages!  I'm dealing with numerous important issues here at home, that unfortunately (as important as this issue is) take priority over this  said issue.  But you are more than welcome and have my permission (if you even need it) to go through my "Sent" folder and see for yourself at the ones that I still have.  (Some are even "Flagged" but that was getting too time-consuming for me to try and keep up with so many sent messages so I just frickin' gave up).  IDK if you need my login info, if you do LMK and I'll gladly PM that to you.  But I don't see how looking at one or two member's messages is somehow going to "fix" the system-wide problem facing both Ebay and its members.

Hi @orpheuscomputing, I reviewed the flagged messages in your sent folder and can confirm that the recipients you contacted did receive all of your messages in their eBay messages inbox. Again, a lack of response is not an indication that messages are not being received by the recipient. More likely, the seller/buyer inadvertently overlooked the message in their My eBay inbox or may have decided not to respond to it.

Since it appears the messages are being received... I wonder if this could be a notification problem?   For about 1 week when people started reporting messaging problems,  I noticed on the eBay app on my phone, that little red circle next to the app with number of notifications / sales made stopped working.  Also the sleep screen notification messages of items sold or messages received also has not worked at all for about a week.  I have gone in to the app several times with no notifications being displayed and found there were, in fact, sales or messages made that day.  So maybe people are getting messages but don't see they are there right away unless they log in and look directly at messages, or sold or notifications?   Is this lack of APP notifications a known issue?

So according to you, there's nothing wrong and everyone is just "making it up" or "imagining things" not only here but all the other threads as well.  Typical Ebay "don't give a **bleep**" **bleep**.  Wish I could say I'm "surprised".

I need to 'report' that for the first time in ~a week I'm finally starting to get emails for "Send a copy to my personal email address".  Can't comment on the other notification issues yet, but at least that may be working now.  Anyone else?

Hi @babclassics, I'm not sure if there is a known issue with mobile app notifications. The mobile team is active on the iOS and Android mobile app boards. I suggest that you create a thread on one of those boards regarding this topic so that the mobile team can investigate the matter further.

Brian  T i think your very wrong here

i have been ebaying for a very very long while

and natture of second hand item meant 1000s of mail per month

 

i assure you there is a problem with " blank mesage" with only buyer id being sent to seller- no notification or any other form and one have to manually logg on seller hub- click sort by question and try figure out which question they did not answer

 

even if you find the new message the latter would be blank ! and you have to mesage other ebayer " sorry ebay message is damage and has been such for few month,, what was the query re: the item..
