This happened on the app only; browser was fine. That was about 5 days ago. Reverted to English (from French) on the app when I changed password but my notifications remained in French. Reinstalling the app made no difference but another change of passwords, this time on Google too, brought things back to normal.
Today, just to be on the safe side, I changed my eBay password again and .... Yes, back to French. Waiting to hear back from customer support.
