Are you sure you have the latest version of the app? I am not familiar with the iOS version, but for the Android version there can be issues with Google Play Store or Google Play Services that can prevent getting the latest version -- there may be something similar with the Apple equivalent. Sometimes a reboot in between uninstalling and re-installing can also help.
