I scheduled a promotion for this weekend for 15% off everything in my store. This morning the promotion kicked off and is shown at the header of my store but nothing is marked down. Everything in my store is listed as eligible for the sale per the promotion link but it's all listed as full price. I tried shutting down the old promotion and starting a new one but the same thing.
Is anyone else having this problem?

So I talked to eBay and they said it takes up to 24 HOURS from when you start the promotion to when it will actually active in your store. 24 HOURS?!
Anyone else think this is absolutely ridiculous?

We tried to start a sale this morning, still 'processing' 4 hours later...

Hi, Same here, I have sent at least 2 packages a day to the mail in Nov., from other venues. I even called E-bay & asked why this is they said a glitch & would fix it, never did though. I have 5 accounts here & only 1 sale. Good luck to all on Black Friday!

Same issue here... Started a sale over 2 hours ago and it still is not live. This has happened to me before recently though. The sale took hours to actually start and then it wouldn't end when it was supposed to end either.

Yup, I started 2 at around 10AM PST & they are still now at 4:30PST showing "Processing". So much for running a Black Friday sale. So, it's been going on all day & apparently Ebay has yet to fix it.
There's nothing on the Announcement board. Has anyone called Ebay for an ETA? Not that I'd believe them anyway.

I've never had one take more than 5 minutes to start (meaning in probably a decade or so). I think the CSR was clueless.

@machinator248 @simply-the-best-for-you - I hate to break the bad news to you, but the official word is this is not a glitch or technical problem because according to eBay, markdown promotions may take up to 24 hours to process for both starting and ending and they say that is "normal experience" for this tool.
I brought this issue up almost 2 months ago to try to get it fixed before it became a huge problem for Cyber weekend and the holidays and got nowhere.

Oh jeez, thanks for the info! I almost never run sales anymore, but have never encountered more than a few minute delay before. I guess I'll plan better next time & start the night before.
I looked at your thread, but got frustrated reading it & at 20 pages long, decided to save myself the angst LOL; I'm taking your word for it, as you seem to be very thorough. BTW, IDK if it was answered anywhere in the 20 pages, but I think what they meant by "site security" is that some items can take a long time to index or re-index if they are a brands that is often faked. I don't personally list many of those brands, but it used to happen a lot & at one time I even recall seeing a list of those brands.

Yeah that thread got pretty long with all of us trying to provide examples to eBay and trying to convince them that this is not how it should be working.
I had asked for clarification about site security and the answer I got was basically that the processing time is used to review listings for possible violations or issues like you mentioned.
That doesn't make a lot of sense to me considering that we still see listings with violations that are on sale, and it also makes me wonder because our listings don't change from promo to promo, yet sometimes it takes only 10 minutes to review and sometimes it takes 10 hours. But yeah, the take away from that whole thread is that regardless of the reason, eBay considers it normal for it to take up to 24 hours for promos to process and will only consider reports of delays that are longer than that.
